I'm a fan of my OR. The A-TRAC has been awesome the few times I knew it was working. It's like sort of having a front locker but not totally. ABS is a pain in the winter but just drive accordingly. I solved the BS leaf pack by getting an AP expo pack. Truck drives and shifts so much more solid now. I'd get an OR again.

You already know this since we chatted but thought I would throw it out there one more time, I like my OR and would do it again. Only thing I would change is getting an AC instead of DC.

I'd do the OR again in a heartbeat. I didn't want the long bed anyway because my garage is so shallow that it wouldn't fit. The long bed double cab is just 1 inch shorter than a full size Chevy Suburban.

Thanks for all the help everyone this is my first truck I'm buying on my own. My pops was nice enough to give me my 06 when I was 17. I just want to do it right the first time and get what I want It's tricky when your overseas and can't step foot into a dealer.

I was originally worried about that at first but, I read a few threads and you cleared that up earlier in the thread.

I put a deposit on a MGM OR yesterday morning and I got to thinking if it was the right way to go and I'm convinced now that it is.

Love my OR. Locker engaged with ATRAC is pretty beastly! I wouldn't worry for a second about the OR having a weaker rear end. I can't say I've found too many(none) threads in regards to guys breaking the rear ends even if it is considered "weaker". One of your first upgrades should be the leaf pack for sure.. the 3 leaf blows.

For what I do (Trails, old forest roads, general exploring, light to moderate wheeling), it's perfect. Good capability out the door, and I get a locking rear diff, where as my use does not justify modding an SR-5 to have a locking diff.

TRD Exhaust, Mobtown bolt on sliders and aluminum tailgate reinforcement, Reverse lights changed to yellow turn signals, LED pods added for reverse, ADD W1 oil catch can, Total Chaos bed reinforcement, rear diff breather to taillight mod, 12" combo led bars behind lower grill wired to high beams, Toyota led bed light kit, 400 watt anytime mod, SSO slimeline front bumper.
That squeak noise drives me crazy too.

The other thing that has taken awhile for me to get used to is the electric brake assist. I know this is strange but, sometimes when my truck is off I will let it roll out of the garage (driveway is slopped) when I wash it or just need to move it. Well with the brakes on the OR they will not grab at all then you hear the electric pump assist start to pump and the brakes will grab suddenly. Little different than the brakes I had in my 02 OR, or any other vehicle previously.

To the OP: I do love my OR though and would get the same truck if I did it again tomorrow. I don't like lots of electric BS in things where they are not needed, but so far it seems Toyota has given you the ability to control this stuff, which is what I want.

5100 front/rear, OME 885's, diff/carrier drop, 13/10mm spacers, Wheelers 2" AAL, LED map and dome lenses Bed mat MORE TO COME

I bought my 2013 TRD OR in OCT and I love it I am coming from the world of of late 70's chevys with solid axles so its a bit of of change for me.
As far as the e-locker I LOVE IT period you dive into a ditch or something at an angle rear tire comes of the ground (remember these trucks don't have a ton of flex) and there you sit with your tire spinning in the air, press and hold your rear lock and you will crawl right out.
As far as the A-TRAC once you know how it works it's just another tool to use when needed also very cool, I'll give you some links that show it working.
But as far as regrets I have none love my truck 4 wheels better then I thought it would just wish it came with color matched grill and bumper and if your going to 4 wheel get the locker.

After you get the truck leave this site and never come back, you will so much money modding your truck getting new ideas I'm going on $4000 in upgrades!! I have only had it 9mo are you kidding me? lol I love this site my wife hates it it's grate.

    Hope this helps

    Uh, not hardly.

Seen a few break under mild conditions, including one of mine. That said, for 90% of people on here, it's not a worry. If you really intend to pound the truck, the 8" running gear needs to go and become either a 9.5" landcruiser third or just give up and get 60s.
