thanks, so I need an alignment to do a simple R&P boot replacement.

I was hoping not to need an alignment but its not that big a deal, I kinda figured that was going to be the case.

here I was so happy the boots were cheap and thinking this was a simple fix lol.

from the video I think the reason my steering wheel is off 1" to the left when driving straight down the road is, I assume, at some point someone counted wrong when replacing a tie rod or didn't count and left it way off so some guy aligned it without checking the steering wheel position was correct.

I think I need to first correct the steering wheel position by turn the tie rods equal turns to shift the steering wheel straight before I do anything else and then I can mark where the positions are to take things apart. if anyone disagrees with this idea please say so.

I would agree that the tie rods are off. Did a bit of research and that seems to be the case.

thanks, it drives great, doesn't pull at all and goes straight forever if you let go of the wheel but to go straight its to the left about a solid 1" or maybe 1 1/4"

the truck also seams to not turn very well in that I find im stopping to back up to complete u-turns a lot which seams strange, I would think the wheel base is not that large to be like that but I never took the time to compare left and right turning radius
