If their really on my ass I'll slow down a bit and hope they catch the hint. If they are still driving like an asshole, I'll find the slowest car on the highway, and pay the box game.

If I am being tailgated then the person behind me is driving like a jackass because I typically drive ~10 over the posted speed limit. If I'm on a multi-lane road I will do what you should do which is move over to the right lane and let them pass. When im on a multi-lane road it usually never gets to the point they are tailgating because I'm always scanning my rear-view mirrors like a good driver should do and I can tell if someone is approaching me at a higher rate of speed than I am traveling, in that case I will move over and let them pass me. If I'm on a 2 lane road I will continue to drive ~10 over like I usually do and let them tailgate me until I have a chance to pull over and let them pass. I rarely get tailgated though because I'm typically driving fast(er).

Sometimes I am the one doing the tailgating but...ONLY WHEN SOMEONE IS DRIVING SLOW IN THE LEFT LANE ON A 4+ LANE ROAD. In that case I usually flash my brights at them to signal them to move over because they shouldn't be driving slow in the left lane. Obviously they don't see the "slower traffic keep right" signs that are posted all over the place in GA. If they still don't move over then I will pass them on the right..usually flicking them off. :) I NEVER tailgate on a 2 lane road though. I will back off and keep a safe distance if we're on a 2 lane road. If they are driving under the speed limit I'm usually banging my hands on the steering wheel, flicking them off, etc. People who don't yield to faster moving traffic on multi-lane roads really tick me off.

I turn on my hazards if they are too close. They usually get the hint!

I maintain my speed and if they stay on my ass well.....my 150psi train horn will usually get their attention. It always seems to do the job, I only use it for drivers that need a "wake up call". :D

Depends, most of the time I move to the right and let them pass. If they are just being a prick I will attempt to box them in with another car.

Haha, I'm doing an online defensive driving school because I rear ended somebody (not tailgating, just wasn't paying attention) but there's a scenario where all the cars in the other lane have their brights on and the car behind you is tailgating you and has their brights on. That would suck:crapstorm:

btw it is illegal (at least in California and Washington) to impede traffic in the left lane on the hwy regardless of speed!

I actually had an old man a few weeks ago brake check me when I was at least 2 cars lengths behind him. He slammed on his brakes 4-5 times in a 1 mile stretch as if I were tailgating him...except I wasn't lol. He kept flicking me off in his rear view mirror...Keep in mind the entire time I am AT LEAST 2 cars lengths behind him which IMO is a reasonable distance for traveling 30 mph. He needed to get his eyes checked because I wasn't tailgating him the slightest bit. He was doing 30mph in 45mph zone. Some old people shouldn't be allowed to get a drivers license. We exchanged a few choice words at the next traffic light.

I will just tap the brakes to were the lights come on, then maintain the speed limit. Its not too big of a deal for me because I leave my rease hitch in and its usually just me driving.

in my own truck I just slow up and let them pass I used to flip out and try to fight everyone but I was young and dumb and stuck on the needle. Now I am 31 I really do not care. But in my work truck I do nothing since it has a truck number and my company logo all over it. People already hate the power company so its a lose lose for me

I usually just brake check hard.. they get the point or they hit me, either way they pay for it.. not me. :D

Had a doctor in a BMW (had medical plates) roll hard on me on RT 208 in New Jersey.. I knew a nasty pothole was coming up, so I sped up... corrected course at the last possible second (he was so close I couldn't see his headlights), he hit that pothole and must've destroyed his driver's side tire/rim... cause he smacked the retaining wall/barrier pretty hard... and I kept going. He never touched me, not my fault he wrecked.
