Opinions on what? Being a Cop? eh..it's a job..pays the bills. Beats working my ass off as a house painter that's for sure. When I was just a few years into my career, I thought it was the end all be all sort of thing.

I've learned that there's more to life than bein' a Cop. Don't get me wrong. I like doing what I do and have fun at times, but it has it's downside too. I'm sure my fellow Veteran Brothers in Blue would agree.

I will always move over and let them pass if I am driving on the left lane on a multi-lane highway/freeway.

Just yesterday afternoon, F*CK! I was so pissed off. I was driving home from work on a 4lane (each direction) freeway and I was driving on innermost lane. I was only going 70mph and the speed limit was 65. The rest of the vehicles in that lane were also traveling the same speed so I was not inpeeding on anyone. The dumb a$$ lady in front of me driving her stupid scion could not maintain a steady speed. We were driving for a few miles at a constant 70mph, then she speeds up and left a BIG gap between us but I continued at 70mph. All of a sudden I noticed I'm catching up to this brod, QUICK! she must have slowed down to about 60mph on the fast lane. I went around to pass her and she sped up and didn't let me pass. I got behind her and lit her up with my HID high beams. I can't stand people that cannot maintain a steady speed or that press their brakes when no one is even close to them. Retards

    ... End rant

About two years back, I was on some dude's ass since he was driving the same speed as the rest and would not let me pass (no one was in front of him). He slammed on his brakes HARD and I did too, I had to swerve into the emergency lane in the center of the freeway to avoid rear-ending him. That pissed me off so much I swear I went into rage mode. I was trying to make this guy pull over. I would have beat the living shit out of him, then totally destroy every part of his car if he had pulled over... and I'm an extremely laid back, easy going, patient guy. I'm glad he didn't pull over.

When I was 16-22 or so, I'd lay on the brakes or box them in. I watched a guy pounding his steering wheel behind me because I had him blocked at about 50.

I'm 31 now and I just get out of the way. People these days are nuts, and in WV/KY where I'm at 9 out of 10 people are probably packing. I'm the only person I know that doesn't own a gun. It's just not worth it to instigate these situations.

Some of you guys are saying you don't care to get hit in the rear or hitch but damage or not, you'd regret it. Whiplash really sucks and can cause long-term pain and/or mobility issues. I guess 4 wheeling can cause it too, though..LOL

^ this. I now give people the courtesy I'd like. Stay the hell out of the left lane unless passing, look before changing lanes, use the turn signal, etc.

Truckers used to (and some still) use the ol' "handful of change out the window" technique to get people off their ass.

My personal favorite was a recommendation from a comedian: Keep life size baby dolls wrapped in baby blankets in the vehicle. If someone starts tailgating you, throw one or two of them out the window.

I have a video system installed in my truck that records everything that happens at all times. 1 camera facing front and 1 facing backwards. Haven't had anything like this happen since installing it but it's only a matter of time. I'll provide highlight footage if/when I capture something good. :)

Since I have a bed cage and two spares hanging out back people say 3 or 4 car lengths behind me normally. But I drive slow (Speed limit normally) and get a tailgater everyone once in a while and I flash them with my dust light and it gets them to back off because it is so bright.

Most of the time they're not so inclined to tailgate if they have no view of what traffic is doing in front of you. So I would stay left against the lane marker as much as possible. This is usually in rush hour traffic when I'm just pacing existing traffic.

I HATE tailgaters, idiots that dont can it to get on freeway and expect everyone to slow down for them, tailgaters that pass you just to drive the same speed or slower, or those who tailgate and wont go around. I only tailgate when I want to pass.

thats just the craziest funny thing ive ever heard.. im glad he didnt get in.. or did he? some people are a bit too crazy to be running around free now a days.. but anywho.. what happened?! did you run him over?

i live in socal.. i know exactly what you mean.. i get sooooo angry when theres people in the fast lane going slower then the slow lanes to the right! for some reason i just blow up..:boom: its like that person doesnt see the 5 cars all tailgating eachother cuz the persons going too damn slow! "move out the way!"... then its a 50% chance your going to deal with that douchbag thats going to speed up and either race you or yell at you for going around them! im just getting angry thinking about it!

but back to if i were being tailgated id move out the way.. i mean i know what it feels like to be in a rush so ill let the person pass..no biggie.. speed limits are a good thing to follow but if the flow of traffic is faster.. get the fuck out of the way or ill eat you! :hungry:

I live in an area full of rich high school kids whose mommy and daddy pay for everything and have no idea the value of a dollar. That being said, all of them drive like jackasses. Idiot kid accross the street from me (whos tottalled 2 cars I think) used to try to tailgate me soo close in his Civic that I couldn't even see his headlights or most of his hood.

If I get tailgated I usually will tap the brakes so just the light comes on to see if they back off, if not I slow down until they do. They try anything at a stop light or anything like that and its their ass...

That being said, having an NRA decal on a truck prevents most tailgating.

In my area, almost all the roads are 2 lanes. That being said, if someone tailgates me, I'm going to slow down. No if's, and's, or but's about it. Most of the roads are dashed lines, so the idiots tailgating me can pass anytime, yet they choose not to. I'll slow down until they do pass, because tailgating is not only dangerous, it's flat out stupid.

Now if I make my way over to a bigger city (Norfolk, VA Beach, etc) then I always drive in the right lane, because as we all know, the left lane if for passing and for folks that want to go faster. I have no problem with that at all, but if you want to go fast and want to get right up behind me on a multi-lane highway, then I'll most surely slow down.

Wow I dont even know where to start with that pic. The 2 on the left are doing the same pose. The far left has no shirt on under? The one in the middle looks like he has lipstick on. The one on the right looks like he was gonna pull the "point" move with hands but noticed the other 2 were so he didnt know what to do. I could keep going. You win the douche bag competition lol

I can't help but laugh at all the people that said they drive really fast so if someone is tailgating them they drive like an asshole. Well wouldn't that make you an asshole as well?
