I'm fine with it. I will do whatever I can do for someone to help. However, I cannot do what I don't know how to do, and a trach falls into that category. Could I learn? Sure, but the chances of coming up on someone needing a trach versus coming up on someone stuck or needing a jump or needing a hug...? Way too far out dude. I get paid to think of the unthought too but I can only do what I can do.

In February my house had power, everyone else in my family did not. So it was down to the Taco and a sibling's Subaru to trundle across town and condense four houses into one. Three days, 11 people, 8 dogs, 6 cats.

2 vehicles in use, owned by 2 drivers with enough snow experience to get out and tangle with a city full of drivers that don't.

Other than that, just the occasional random person needing a jump start at the grocery store.

So there was this one time i was at a lake and there was this Dive team that was out searching for whatever cool stuff they could find in the water. Well they had found something big by mid afternoon and they were trying to find a way to recover it. Long story short, I slapped on a set of paddle tires and a snorkel and hooked up to their chains. after about 17 minutes of chugging i managed to raise an old sunken aircraft carrier. They were pretty grateful and it went into some museum.
Another time i was driving out in the desert, goofing around and finding some hills to jump when i came upon a primitive dirt runway and a small Cessna 172 at the far end. Some guys with machine guns started waving me down, so me, being curious and all, went over to see what all the fuss was about. They didnt speak much english but made it very clear they need help gettin their plane to fly. So i suggested they use some rope to tie to my tow hitch while they hang on to the other end in the cockpit. Once they did that i started pullin their plane down the runway, I got em going fast enough and yelled "ROTATION" out my drivers side window, about that time they took off and dropped the rope. I would have never been able to do that with a ridgeline.

    Sounds like two fine examples!
I was driving around in an old uranium mine the other day and happened upon an old lost codger looking for a ride out. Was getting ready to let him in when Scooby and Shaggy came running around the corner!
Luckily I had some Scooby Snacks in the center console and found out it wasn't a prospector at all, it was old Mr. Davis...

Search and Rescue volunteer. (Modified) Truck is checked out as a POV "Personal Offroad Vehicle" and could come in handy in case all other vehicles capable of carrying stretchers are occupied. It's actually one of the reasons I got the Tacoma. I would have been all for getting an EV but there just aren't any that can do what I need it to do when and where I need it. Industry has failed me there by probably 5 years or so.

I park in curbside spots, as close to the curb as possible, to help others keep their doors as far away from my truck as possible.

I bad about paying my gas taxes though, it's a first gen Taco with only 64,000 miles on it.

There’s a long stretch of dark highway I travel on my way home, and I always stop to help someone with a flat, especially our elderly and my taco carries all my tools

Nope I learned my lesson over the years most people will want to borrow, move etc etc but when it comes to damage done you lose.
I help a friend of move and his wife and daughter thought that throwing a couch from the 2nd story to the back of the truck would be easier than carrying it. Well I will tell you, when I heard the loud bang and turned and walked toward the truck the couch had landed on the side of the truck and leaving an nice big dent on the top of rail.I was furious and called them every word in the book and they just said sorry. They promised to make good and repair the truck no problems well that never happened. So no will not lend or help anyone because of that experience.

Reactivating a public FSR that a jackass forest company deactivated out of spite (to keep protesters from accessing some stands of ancient trees).

I volunteer at two kids camps near me. I have done construction work for them for a long time. It has been an amazing blessing to help them. Every Friday a few of us go and build and maintain the 85 buildings. I don't use my truck much:) They have a real truck(F250) that hauls large amounts of stuff:) But, the Tacoma gets my sore tired but home in comfort!

Believe me I do have a lot of friends but my truck is off limits for moving etc. I will give some of them boost, tow, ride but no one borrows it period.Pay too much money for it for someone to abuse it. I am a nice guy to those who understand and an ass hole to those who don't lol

My Taco happily carries my 98 year old father to the driving range and to church since he came to live with us four years ago. Lately I have been driving my wife to chemo too, and gladly catering to her every whim. Blessed, and happy to be in the service of others. Because...they both put up with my shit when I was young, for longer than anyone should have to, and they never stopped loving me.

After buying some recovery gear, took the family out for a little 4H riding on ice and snow packed gravel roads. Heading out of town she mentioned how she thought I'd never use all that stuff that was "taking up space" in the bed.

Pulled out three cars that day. Upside, she hasn't questioned the subsequent taco related purchases (of which there have been a few)

When it's a Jeep or other American truck POS, pulling someone out is that much sweeter!
