Alright I have read tons of posts about the same mud tires I have ran now and even in the past. How are you making them last so long? Right now I have 235/85r16 thunderer mt's on my truck. I've read threads that people are getting 40k+ miles out of them? I'm at around 10k right now and have worn off the upper step on the tread so I'm guessing I'll get maybe 25,000 miles out of them which is basically what I've gotten out of all my tires (thunder mt's, master craft mt's, master craft cxt, and duratracs). I rotate my tires every 3k miles and I run around 30 psi to avoid wearing the centers out. So what's the secret to getting that many miles haha???

Proper psi, 5k mile rotations, don't tow anything, easy on the gas/brakes.

Some tires just wear faster than others due to compound or tread design.

    Added weight doesn't help either.

Michelins last damn near forever, but they don’t offer a mud tire

Alignment is good and basically everything in the front end is brand new. Brand new upper control arms JBA offroad, moog lower ball joints, inner and outer tie rod ends, new old man emu struts, whiteline lower control arm bushings.

Truck definitely gets used this is my everyday driver and It's my hunting truck so it doesn't every get a break haha.

I ran several sets of the Michelin ltx m/s and won't anymore. They always dry rot before I get anywhere close to the rated mileage. BFG quality has gone down the crapper as well. Granted it's the same company.

That probably has alot to do with it. I have a shell, ARB bumper, winch, and probably 100lbs of tools all the time.

Ok, damn, thats a bit lower than I'd expect since you can usually get 40k+ out of em on a fullsize truck. What kind of terrain are you hitting when off-road? Lots of tire spin in dirt/rock?

I also believe driving and proper rotations matter in addition to what type of tire you use. I just swapped out my Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S tires after 85k miles. I drive a lot of highway miles which probably contributed to the longevity.

We just did the math and my brothers wildpeak at3w tires have at least 120k km on them running around 35 psi. Rotated once 95 percent hwy miles. They don't even look very worn out to me, I can't understand it. 255/80r17. My 285 duratracs lasted 87k km. 35/12.50r17k02 had 56k km on them when I traded my colorado and were around 2/3rds worn. Running 255/85r16 geolander g003 on my taco now. If I get 80k km I'll be happy. But I rotate my tires at 5 k km religiously.
