    Hello everyone,

My "maintenance required" light came on in my truck. It is a 05 Tacoma Prerunner SR5 that is a 2.4L 5 speed manual. I tried unhooking the battery but it is still there and can't seem to get rid of it. Any suggestions?

1.) Turn the truck off and take the key out
2.) Push and hold the button for the odometer with one hand
3.) Put the key into the ignition with your other hand and turn the key to the "ON" position...do not start your truck.
4.) You'll see something like this: "--------" show up on the odometer read out.
5.) Wait for all the dashes go away and then shut off the truck.
6.) If you want, start your truck and it should no longer be there. The Maintenance Required light has now been reset for another 5,000 miles from your current odometer readout.

Hopefully you did this after changing your oil. That's what the light is there to remind you to do.
