How do you remove the center console lid?

Anyone know how to remove the center console lid?

I want to send it out to have it covered and need to remove the lid from the console

Hmm, watching, may come in handy when removing console for short shifter install. Hey, check that thread, not sure it said anything about the lid though..........looking.....nope, starts with console already removed, sorry.

 

open it - remove the 5 little screws - take off the black inner insert - remove the 4 screws holding on the latch - the top cushy piece (mines gray) will peel right off.... Your done. check out:

Obviously I took mine apart!

 

just unscrew the screws....take a look you'll figure it out

 

Anyone know a way to disable the hinges so the console won't spring open? My latch broke and the velcro to hold it close isn't working so great.

sorry to bump an ancient thread, but i still couldnt figure it out last night. i was pulling hard on the lip but didnt want to break it. is there a video? i searched in youtube but only found it for the 3rd gen.
