    Neat. I didn't know how it worked exactly, thanks for the insight. I figured it was something similar to an exhaust brake on a semi.

    Just to go off track a bit.

    I had a complete done a few years ago and did a lot of research and talked to a lot of doctors.

    Don't get a partial knee replacement. The recovery is just as long for a partial as it is for a complete. Most partial replacements end up getting a complete replacement in a short time anyway. I don't like doing it twice.

    My complete knee replacement was good and I was back at work in 5 and a half weeks after surgery ( I don't have a desk job, I work on the plant floor of a manufacturing business ).

    Do it. Your life will; improve.
