How do you sleep in your ext cab???

Anyone else?

 

I always will sleep in the passenger seat (more room due to no pedals, plus your brake lights wont possibly come on randomly, or feet wont get stuck)

I just barely fit when I'm in the passenger seat with it fully reclined.

If I'm camping or around places that there arent many people that would walk by, I'll sleep in the bed. Having a BesTop FTW!

 

Well I guess everyone is different

I slept like a baby for 5 hours on a trip down to destin in the passenger seat of my buddy's Standard cab ford ranger.

 

And I'm 6'0

 

Oh, if you can, I've found out that if you can incline the front end of your truck just a bit it helps a TON for sleep. This way you'll be as close to flat as possible while in the front seat.

Being able to sleep in it the back of it is one of the reasons why I have a topper

.....and a bottle of whiskey helps

I sleep just fine in my truck, I do it all the time in the Desert, I swapped my seat for some Subaru Impreza seats so its a lot more comfortable and softer. Plus the passenger side is a better side to sleep in, More room.

 

Might be buying a Double cab with a "cap" soon (canopy) and I'm curious if any of you have slept in the back (bed) of your double cab on an angle to get the tail gate closed? Will that work? (I'm 6'0"). I've slept in the back of my '93 Xtracab pickup (which I just sold) before and it was fine obviously because of the 6'3" bed but the bed in the D-cabs is 5'1". Not sure how much you can work with on an angle and the wheel wells and all that.

 

Damnt i was just gonna post this!! hahaha you'd be amazed how easy it is to fall asleep in a double cab at 5 in the morning after a bonfire party!

 

math says from one corner to the opposite is 6'1" (61" x ~41" for the box if the wheelwells were the whole length). I'd say its possible to sleep diagonally, idk what would be best for position though, head at the cab or at the tailgate. Only one way to find out

 

I camped in mine for an entire winter, every night. Too cold and drafty under the cap, that was just for storing the passenger seat. Four bolts whisked out with a ratchet, and once that seat was heaved in the back...

 

With my backseats folded down and front seats flipped forward, girlfriend and I have slept back there. Just use a sleeping back as padding and had a ton of blankets because it was 30degrees...

 

I thought it still was considered a bench seat. It's a split bench, but the center console folds up to make it all the way across. Just roll down the window and hang your feet out

Yeah, kinda defeats the purpose of sleeping in the cab doesn't it...

 

Put it in drive and find the nearest hotel.

 

i have the 60/40 split and i put both seats back and put my feet on he drivers side and my girl in the pass and lean on her

 

yeah, I've done it. And in small Hondas too. There's a trick to it: take an additional mat, like a Thermarest or something like that, put just a bit of air in it and fold it to the size of the seat portion. Sit on it. It raises your hips higher and when you put the seat back, it straightens out the whole thing, so there's no big drop-off at your belt line. You'll sleep much better if you can merely raise your hips up some.
