I use this cover is the winter and just the kennel in the summer. He barks the whole time, I've learned to tune it out.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
My dogs love riding in the bed, both are labs as well. As long as your dog is good riding in the bed and wont jump out, let her ride back there. I think most dogs prefer to ride out back anyway, I would if I was a dog, who wants to be cooped up in a cab when there is all sorts of wonderful smells to smell and sights to see, other dogs to growl and bark at?

Here is Oliver. He rides in the back in a dog hammock and keeps a watchful eye for any kind of impeding danger lol...

Bo & Bailey sleeping during our monthly 18 hour (round trip) drive to visit the rest of the family.

We have a hammock & door covers. When installed correctly, it will cover the backs of the front seats, the back seat & doors. The dogs can't get to the floor because it is a hammock stretched between the front & rear head rests. It does leave the head rests of the front & rear seats exposed unless you buy covers for those as well.

Bo, the Redbone Coonhound, does slobber and Bailey, the Golden Retriever, sheds. I still need to do a GOOD cleaning when done and I always wash the hammock between uses.

That being said, my almost 5 month old truck still looks & smells new inside.

Now, how did I miss the Wet Okele group buy?!?!

My wife made a huge dog bed for the back seat of my Avalanche when we had that and I use that for the Taco. It completely covers the area when the seats are down.

I hear you, but if you are ever in an accident your buddy is going to take a beating and may be killed. Dogs can also fall out even if they don't jump out. Not meaning to rag on you, but It's a good idea to think about possible consequences. I'm sure you wouldn't want to see your dog hurt.

This. I had a friend whose dog got bounced out of the bed on a bump and he ran over his own dog, killed her.

Mine won't even put her head out the window, she doesn't seem to like the wind.

Here is Hank in the back seat. Depending on how big he gets he might have to ride under the softopper.

mine are usually in the box when wheelin or driving around town. During the winter sometimes i'll feel bad so i'll let them into the cab. Not to often tho, way too much hair! Just recently bought a topper to help protect them from the elements and whatnot.

    You mean, your quadruped? :D

Mine rides in the bed. He sheds too much for the cab.

I use a kennel I made a while back. this is actually a pic on my older Tacoma. Works out great. I am considering making some minor changes and selling some of these.

that was when he was a puppy... now we have him always ride in the bed in an xl dog crate. We put a little doggy bed in there and got a weather resistent kennel cover from cabella's, he love he's little home, and i love his fur and mud not always being on my seats. and the cover has little windows and a door that you can zip up, so on nice days he still gets to enjoy the view.

Already said this, but my two Goldens go in the box. Since both my dogs are 7 years old my male is having difficulty jumping into the truck now. So i bought a pet ramp to help. It's a PITA to lug around and setup each time, but i'm sick of dead lifting his 100 lb lazy ass up into the truck now. lol

Anybody else using a ramp? If so, how do you like it?
