How does my truck communicate with Toyota?

Y'all do realize Toyota doesn't manufacture the frames right?

 

We know an Ohio firm supplies the frame and we realize that it doesn't matter. Toyota name is on my invoice.

 

I suspect we have a dash cam. That is if the black box is receiving and storing the video feed from the lane assist camera. Anyone know if this is the case?

Is that correct? And if so, how do the frame get to Mexico or wherever else they are shipped to? Tacoma's are no longer built in Japan for the American market?

 

It was revealed years ago that the supplier for the 2011-2017 frames was in Ohio. I don't have the sauce anymore. Don't know where the frames are being sourced now. Yes, the Texas plant quit making Tacos some time ago. Don't know what the plans are for the 4 gen. Maybe the youtubers can get that info.

 

I believe rail is the common method. Maybe semi in some cases.

For sure, but you claim a warranty issue while you’re out off-roading in the middle of nowhere and they will know your gps coordinates where it happened … denied - maybe. Bit different than having a menu show up in your email.

You can decline getting the Toyota app, never connect any phone to your truck and opt out of all Toyota connected services. Then your little Taco just disappears from the mother ship.
