How does the frame recall work? Can i get a courtesy inspection for my 2013 Tacoma

i have a 2013 tacoma and i see there is a bit of rust near the tow hitch. i think its starting to spread to the frame. I want to get this checked out, i called a nearby toyota dealer, and they said there was no active recalls on my tacoma, and i would have to pay the hourly fee to get an inspection.

Im wondering if the frame recall has expired or if the 2013 never had an issue to begin with.

had mine (2013) inspected & CRC'd at the dealer last year. I think it's expired by now.

Had my 2013 in last summer. No need for frame replacement.Still solid frame. Dealership kept my truck for 3 days. Cleaned the frame and rustproofed it. They provided me with a new Toyota as loaner. Overall a good Dealership experience.

Technically it isn’t a recall, it’s a service campaign for “qualified trucks”.

Its is. I have a take home car for work so my 2013 only has 50k.

 

I have a '13, and my frame was replaced this Jan.

That campaign was to end at the end of this last Feb. But I remember getting a notice it was extended for a bit longer. Could be the extension has expired too. Better check with a couple dealers to verify.
