    $17k?? Yikes.

Unless you're looking for a museum piece, why the hell would you pay that much for a 20 year old truck?

I mean, I guess I just come from the perspective that I actually USE my truck and don't baby it like it some, well, museum piece. I throw dirt/rocks in the bed, actually USE the 4x4, etc... I'm more function over form anyway.

When these tacomas routinely last several hundred thousand miles, finding an ultra low mileage truck really isn't all that necessary, and IMO you're throwing money away paying that much.

I think it's more about bragging rights than finding a good useful truck.

There are little frame rust issues in Colorado, I'm at 530,000 with zero rust.

Got my '04 4x4 TRD 5speed a year and a half ago with 24,500 miles on it. Currently sitting at 56k. They're out there.

Worth noting I had several little issues with it though in the first few months of driving it every day that I attribute to it having sat for so long without being driven. Runs like a top now but I had to work the kinks out. Vehicles are meant to be run, not to sit around (at least not without the proper precautionary steps). I paid a premium for mine too, worth every penny (about $21k after it was all said and done)

F@$@ amaizing dino... he's set for life ... a toyota truck easily will pass 500K miles , that"s why paying 17.K for low mileage doesn't sound LOCO for me .... and if it is crazy. .... oh well ... that's my last name then.... let's get a

Keep in mind you have to factor in inflation. $24,500 in 2004 has the buying power of $32,479 today.

I found the old window sticker for my '98 PreRunner Extended Cab (basically base model) with the 2.7l - it was a fleet vehicle and the company was charged around $17,000 or the same buying power of $26,233 today. (There was a fleet discount)

perhaps the owner has something else he prefers to drive, I prefer my Tacoma and that is why I sold my 09 lexus a month ago because it was just sitting there and barely had 12k miles on it after 7 1/2 years.

The other option is paying double for a newer truck of equal miles that likely won't last nearly as long.

If I was in the market for a nicer truck then my beat up hunk that would be a great buy.

Yeah, I am. Don't get me wrong, that trucks going to sell quick. It's just my opinion that it's overpriced, I know that truck, I owned the same truck just a diff color and there's no way I would pay 17,000 for it at 13 years old regardless of the number of miles. Now if it were a double cab....

The only reason I bought an Xtra cab was because I was in Germany 2000-2003, Korea in 2004. Bought my truck over email with the dealer and had no Idea the Tacoma came in a double cab 03'-04'

I should have specified 100-140k miles. That was what I was thinking about. I had a 97 4x4 4 banger with a camper shell and a carpet kit with 84k purchased from a Toyota dealership for $7k cash - you just gotta be in the right place at the right time I guess.

I got my truck 2 years ago with 61k. It's at 74k now. It belonged to an old guy who never drove it, and the family I got it from got it with 43k in 2013. The daughter drove it back and forth to high school and I picked it up in 2015.

4 banger, is a long way from a V6. But you did get 4 banger for a darn good price, no bones about it!
