Yep, this is what my undercarriage looks like. I cleaned my rear axle back and the spare which I treated 3 years ago and it got dirty and it looked brand new after cleaning.

Looks good to me, I don't see any major rust. If you buy it, you can hit the surface rust with a wire brush and raddle can it black. It will look mint when you are done.

I think some people here have no idea what real rust looks like.

I would buy that truck. Not everyone lives in the desert or in the south.
It snows and rains some places and trucks that are driven get wet and dirty and yes..
    they actually get surface rust.
Thats all minor surface rust and normal wear. Like people have said,
you can always wire brush it and re paint or coat it, but it looks fine.

If I'm spending more than $20K on a used vehicle I expect it to be basically like new. I wouldn't buy that

Go see it in person, I'd say you're safe. I've seen bad and that doesn't really look that bad.

You can't find a TRD anything under 6 years old with 70K on the ODO for under 20K.

Ask the dealer to pressure wash the underside then when you get there it'd be dry for inspection.

Dumb old jokes about CA aside, you couldn’t even get a clean CA ‘85 SR5 with less than 100k miles on it for much less than $20k.

OP- you really need to look at it in person, the photos don’t say much at all.

I had professional fluid film done last week on my 2023. Reminded me of the farm back home with the smell! It's also been 85-100 every day since I put it on and boy has it filled every nook and cranny.

Looks fine. The first thing to rust out on 3rd gens tend to be the exhaust heat shields under the cab floor.

Generally it's very rare to see any 2018+ Taco with a rusted frame.

I usually get mine hit in the fall regardless of how much I drove the past year, since winter in MA sucks and my truck lives outside all year anyways.

No argument that the smell is a little unique but I'll gladly take it over the alternative. My first frame rotted in 11.5 yrs and at this point I'm live without a net on hte replacement with Toyota. I can't see it not legit lasting 10 yrs more re the drivetrain and I got all new shocks etc with the frame job.
