My post in this thread was roughly along the same lines as what you’ve said here. It didn’t get much traction, but yeah the OP needs therapy way more than a steel bed.

Over GVWR and I keep adding more metal
I totaled my truck and the only parts I could salvage were the 2" ball on my hitch, 9 lug nuts, the knob for the HVAC fan, and the composite bed

i mean. kinda. carbides slide over plastic just fine ive found. but the material of this bed seems to be fiberglass rather than like plastic that i had in my head. they are far from sharp tho with 4 years of riding on them

sorry just gona have to take my word on it. only picture i have on my phone is when i first noticed last year after about 4 times loading. now after a bunch more times loading there are full patches taken out down the length of the bed. tailgate panel is nearly cut through. should also add the 1st gen bed is bedlined. i am going to look into building a sled deck as nobody seems to make one for these

Doesn’t look too bad! Maybe clean and sand and skim those rough patches with epoxy! A sled deck sounds like it would help reduce wear and tear too.

Mock me if you will it’s ok since you’re an internet stranger and I don’t take it personal but mental health issues are no joke I seriously have and still and considering suicide the pain she caused me is so great i literally prefer death than to have it torment me. I can’t function during the day and I can’t sleep at night like I rather be dead to not feel it but whatever

    Mock you?

Please don't take my reference like that?

If you've been around HERE long enough to know the type of person I am, this is not me mocking you.

(I see you only have 10 posts so that's something I need to be aware of)

I've had my heart broken...long ago.

These things happen...it's how you get past it that matters.

My apologies if my reply is too much...and the song was not to poke fun.

Thanks I appreciate that ya it’s definitely a process I’m taking day by day. Ive dated my share of women and I guess the reason this one impacted me so much is because I fucked it up and she was the best one I’ve met so far and regret is one hell of a bitch but I’m trying to learn and accept it

    WHEW!

    You had me worried.

Can we get back to talking about the composites of the bed? lol

I need to pay better attention to my audience...to the people who read what I say on this board.

Hey brother, these comments are very concerning. You really should consider seeking some professional help. Hang in there as I promise everything will be OK.

note this is the "before" pictures. much worse now. fortunately that tailgate panel is replaceable and there are a bunch of aftermarket steel and aluminum options. as far as bed itself its not really bad enough for me to worry about yet but yea im sure some black epoxy would make it look fine. theres a bunch of ribbing underneath so this is still more of a cosmetic issue than structural at this point.

Did you use a backing plate on the underside? Need to add something like this to mine. Thanks in advance.
