How far Can you go? (v6 only)

i find that very impressive, even for a non prerunner

 

I have a 4l/v6. Tested it once and got to 312 miles before the light came on. Usually I fill up when it hits 1/2 tank.

 

1. 340 miles til light comes on which is 16.8gal
2. About 25 miles after light comes on

410 highway @ 65-70 in 2WD.

 

I'm with chastain90...93 octane and synthetic oil will get me around 400 miles a tank?

 

I drive for mpg most of the time so this won't be a regular average. I've gotten 475 and 460s are regular with our regular(86 octane). I tried a tank of our super unleaded(91 octane) but it didn't get ant better so I'm back to regular. The most I've ever fueled(topped off) is 21 gallons but 20 is regular.
When light comes on, I drive until needle is is straight on empty line so it varies.

I'm confused?!?! All u guys getting at least 300 miles from a tank! I'm lucky if I break :250 miles out of a tank!

Do you guys normally run your trucks nearly out of gas? I've rarely let my new truck go below 1/2 full and never below 1/4 full. Have used this system for years with other vehicles, only on extremely rare occasions (holidays in remote areas, etc) going below 1/4 tank.

Of course, roughly 150-200 miles is about all I can stand behind the wheel during any one continuous period anyway. At that point, I'm ready for a quick break to stretch my legs, clear my head, and so on.

I try to not let the truck get so low on gas that the light comes on...don't wanna risk burning up my F/I's

 

Only 5 fill-ups, still haven't broken 300 yet. About 293 is the furthest i've been able to make it. Haven't pushed it with the light on.

60/40 Hwy/City 4X4 with manual trans.

 

My best to date is 19mpg. Third tank of gas. I just stay under 75 with going 75 (or just shy) being the normal freeway cruising speed.

I drove it alot more aggressive reaching 80 and a few miles over on this tank. Noticed a definite difference (for the worse) in mileage.

Something I found odd was when my light came on I filled up and I still had 4 gallons left with the light on. That's kind of a lot don't you think? I was only able to put 17 gallons in. We have 21 gallon tanks don't we?

 

I can get 325 easy and probably more but I don't want to put my fuel pump through that.

2.not far because its not good to completely empty your tank I usually fill up at 1/4 tank.

 

350 ish. Gone as high as 400 once or twice but that was pushing it

Ok add on to mine I just filled up after driving the 80-85 and still got 18.11 mpg with even some short 4x4 driving involved.
