how far in advance to ask for a day off?

    Ask early enough that they could fill the hours without overtime. Offer to trade shifts with someone else if their policies allow it and you can find someone willing. Be respectful and flexible.

    i talked to my mentor today, he is my boss and he reports to the boss boss, he said it will be fine cause twe dont do much but change oil and stuff on saturdays so i should be fine whew

    you should have told him the day you accepted the job. but what you do is to to tell him a.s.a.p.that you had a previous committment that somehow slipped your mind,and if it would be o.k. to work some extra hours beforehand to make up the hours.This s
