Every once in a while the dog gets in my way and doesn't want to let me by until I pet her for a minute.

    I spent 5+ years commuting 50K miles/year to/from work. It sucked.

I still make that long commute once a week, a shorter commute to another location 1 or 2 days a week, and 'commute' by walking down a couple flights of stairs with a coffee cup in my hand the rest of the week.

This thread had no trouble getting off the ground.

Just how much DOES it use?

Sounds like mine for the summer if I choose to drive.

    Thanks for your service

That's my predicament. I can drive 2 hours each day from home, or move near my job (temporarily) and only drive a few minutes each day.

So it's between being at home but not having time to do anything or having more time to do nothing by myself in a different town and visit my family and friends on the weekends

Depends I work in North Dakota so it's about a 1000 miles from home, I make the drive 1-2 times a month. My daily drive out to work site from the hotel is 90 miles one way, fill up about $100 a day in the work truck. By the time I head home for thanksgiving my 5 month old tacoma will have 19k miles

Damn, that's a lot of windshield time. I get bored after an hour of driving.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Depends where I'm working, I work all over the state so it varies. Right now I am at a jobsite fairly close to home, it's 130 miles away and I go home most weekends and stay with relatives where I'm working now and hotels when I can't stay with anyone.

5 miles there, 5 back... love it. Takes some of the sting out of running Load E tires.

    ~120 mi round trip.
Last winter was stuck on I78 for +6hours...twice.
Is why I got the Taco and studded snows.
I want to be able to alternate route it.
I'm a RN so I try not to call off.
I can also get mandated for extra shifts.
So when they say I can leave, I'm leaving.
I don't care if I have to dodge polar bears and wooly mammoths.

    Looking for closer work.
