True that... was a long drive of shame home though. After a 14 year relationship, I didn’t pass up opportunities and I didn’t know how to date.

In addition to expenses, and my time, is my confidence in the seller. If I drive all the fork the way out there, and the items are sold, not in the condition listed, etc I'm out all that time and money.

13 hours, not Tacoma but for my daughter's CRV she once had. Somebody sideswiped her parked car. I found two doors, fender and front bumper cover in Florida at a junkyard, same color as my daughters. I saved around $4K.

I think it depends on how much you like road trips. If you truly enjoy driving and seeing stuff and the open road then it's not really a chore, it's a fun way to spend a day.

Since you're asking, I'm guessing that's not how you feel about it. If you don't like road trips then that's a lot of time for not much. So maybe pass them up and keep looking for stuff more local. Things do come up you just have to check a lot and be patient.

The farthest I drove was 3 in half hours for a hood with a scoop.
It’s almost Black Friday and you may find better wheels and tires for a good price.

I'm always amazed how far the delta is between my "good condition" and other's "good condition". I was looking for a set of seats for my Corvette as I'm trying to trade my Corbeau A4s for a set of stock seats. The person who had the stock seats assured me they were in excellent condition. I got to his house and there was wear through spots in the leather, among other defects. He claimed it was an easy repair, blah blah. Dude, you said they were in excellent condition (admittedly, he didn't have photos...I should have known that was a huge red flag).

I was looking at an ad for a 300ZX the other day and the ad claimed the car was "mint". The next sentence said it needed a starter, needed an alignment and had a small patch of rust on the wheel arch, also no test drives. So basically, the car won't start, won't track straight and is rusty, but despite that is mint? That's...a stretch.

I was lucky I was able to exit my purchase and make some money. If they would have been some low end wheel I would have been super pissed. I did pay the tire guys $25 to dismount all the old tires and throw em. It wasn't till I got a price for a proper rebuild / refurb that I threw em on eBay.

    Stock and staying that way
LOL. I'd probably get mom, begrudgingly.

Had to wait for Uncle Sam to give me permission. There is a backlog and it takes them a while. Too long but that's another story.

I don't know if this counts, but I flew down to Sacramento, CA from Tacoma, WA with a couple grand in hand with my only ride back being my old truck that I essentially bought sight unseen off craigslist. Road tripped it back up to Tacoma with no problems. He had a Taco...?

I'm flying to Salt Lake City Utah from California to pick up a new Tacoma on Friday night. Stay the night Friday, pick up the Tacoma Sat morning, Cruise to Zion for Sat night, then back to CA on Sunday. I'm saving a good amount of money on the truck and it will be great to cruise the new truck through some cool scenery and maybe even some off rd.
