I'm with one of the other posters, my need for speed is fueled with something other than a truck. A sportbike on a closed track to be exact. Actually, I'll take that over the vast majority of production cars, too. I've seen a GPS verified 170mph at the track.

100-105ish. Was paying more attention to the speedo than the road. Only did it once for a few seconds.

On the highway I usually cruise at 75-85MPH, and thats just keeping up with traffic

I went 100 in my brothers 97 4runner (im a dumbass) and 90 in my taco...not doing that shit again...the 4runner felt very unstable and someone who graduated from my highschool last year died becase two people were drag racing on a road near my house and one of them lost control and slammed into her. The passenger in the racers car who was pregnant died and the girl from my school died. I'm not saying I'm not going to speed but I'm not going to be going crazy fast.

I limited at around 106 mph, but my truck is naturally aspirated, with a 3 inch lift, and 33" mud tires. I'm plenty happy with it.

However I just put in a new intake, and the DT Long Tube headers.

In my defence I only open it up to those speeds when I drive to Idaho and am on HWY 95 passed Reno and Winnamuca. Middle of nowhare. I did take out a little bunny out there at 85 or so. Poor little guy. Felt his little head bounce off the floor board.

Was that in 6th? I toped out at 110 also, later when I was at home i was thinking it might go faster in 5th. I had a 90 mustang with a Vortech and all kinds of mods. 4th had more top speed, 5th was to much OD. I don't drive over 60 most of the time just wanted to see top speed. Also does anyone know if it's speed controled or RPM or both. I'v missed a shift or two on my V-ROD and it binks out at just under 9000 RPM.

Good point, but you want to know the funny thing? My truck is more stable now with the lift.... It actually handles twistys better than my lower-center-of-gravity Corolla.... Then again, the Corolla needs front new suspension so.... A slight twitch to the wheel of the Corolla makes it feel like it's gonna fly off the road at 65mph. One of these days I'll get the time and money to replace the struts.

It did feel a little squirrely when I first put my 285's on though. That took a bit to get used too. A little more air pressure and driving time and I was fine with it. My 265's seem a little better, but then again they're an inch shorter and narrower so less rubber to flex.

the corolla should corner a million times better, your truck should squal like a bitch ......... and your suspension on da truck is just stiff so it dont lean in the corners, i bet

Well, I can feel the truck lean a bit, but yeah the stiffer suspension helps. I think the Corolla's is so old and worn (factory original I think, and it's got 190+k on it) so it gives too much.

All I know is I have to slow down for turns in the car that I don't have to with the truck. :D

Probably not more than 85 on the Interstate with the Taco.

Last time I drove through West Texas, many of the big rigs were running 100+. Tried it with my race rig once - 454 Suburban pulling 24' Haulmark box. It's all about the balance, good visibility, good tires, good maintenance, good brakes, good nerves. Back in '76 saw 115 down a mountain on the Pennsy Turnpike as passenger in a Montfort Freightliner hauling 40,000 pounds of frozen fish - now THAT was fun!

Anything over 120 feels fast on a public road, especially on a naked bike. Favorite fast cruiser was a 1200 Triumph Trophy. 140 was not too uncomfortable.

On the racetrack in a car with all the protective gear, speed becomes routine. Still a lot of fun, though.

X2. Most Mud tires are only limited to about 80 to 85 mph. AT's arent rated for much more than 100. If that, and depending on the maker of the tire.

"Open it up" doesn't mean you have to go 110mph. You can gun it and "clean the carbon out" and stay within the speed limit.

LT tires do not show speed rating but rather maximum weight.

For instance, the 31x10.50x15 R LT tires that came on my Tacoma have a "109" designation and a load range of "C", so they are rated to carry 2278 pounds each when inflated to 50 psi!

If anyone has a top speed rating given by the manufacturer, I'd like to know it. Tire brand: SPECTOR model: ADVANTA AT. Made by American Pacific Industries; formerly China Manufacturers Alliance, they changed the name after adding plants in India and Indonesia.

With the Michelin LTX and Bridgestone REVO tires that used to carry my 3/4 ton Chevy trucks and 4Runners, I had no concerns about running the tires at any speed. Not so sure about these SPECTOR tires.
