How good has the Toyota service departments next to the dealership been?

    Horrible. Complete morons. I took my truck in for service and what took those certified technicians three times to find out the problem the parts guy at Auto Zone with no experience found out in minutes and resolved my issue.

    it varies. i've had horrible service and i've also had great service.

    as a general rule, i only take my junk to the dealer to do things i can't easily do without a lift.

    if i ever get around to building my own house, it will have a detatched garage with a lift. ....that should eliminate most all my trips to the dealer.

    They quoted me $750 to replace my rear drums brakes, parking brake levers and parking brake cable because my parking brake was not working.

    Took it to an independant brake shop. They told me i was missing a spring on one of the rear brake drums. Charged me $100 to replace the springs and a couple bolts (brake repair kit).

    That and a little PB Blaster and my problem was solved....

    All in all, a negative experience.

    I will be taking it to a different dealer for the Tbelt/Waterpump but aside from that, I'll try and do everything else myself.

    Horrible Service. Route 44 Toyota and Bock South, never seeing me again!
