Greeting all, I’m not very mechanically inclined but really want to do the accumulator clutch delete mod because I’m told it totally changes it into how a manual should really feel.
How hard is it for someone with very limited mechanical skills and limited tools/ no garage?

I don’t understand the purpose of this … I find this to be a waste of time . I have never felt that mine doesn’t feel like a manual. Clutch in gear and go .

+1. my brz, there's all sorts of clutch mods people are trying for different 'feel'. imo, the only time one can feel the clutch is when they're trying to feather it by slipping the clutch, and that sort of driving is done far better with an automatic...

Don't listen to the people telling you "how it should feel".
The Tacoma is a truck, it's not a race car.

I appreciate the replies. I think I’ll just forget the whole idea given the amount of folks who have done it and haven’t reported much of a change.

rotated tires changed oil threw out the old air freshener.
I have yet to figure out how this device has received the name "accumulator". From observation of pictures of the internals, I see no evidence of any "accumulation" of fluid volume based on pressure or flow.
What I do see is a variable restriction to flow based on the fluid flow from the interior to exterior of the "diaphragm" disc. That is, when flow is "fast", the disc will be "sucked" more closely to the flow transfer area, and so reduce the area available to flow. So "slowing" fluid flow. and "slowing" clutch release.

    Have I got this incorrect?

    Probably not hard.

Mine is deleted. Pretty common on any vehicle. Never heard of a single person like accumulators.

I have a a 2019 manual and it feels pretty normal. Even when off-roading in places that were so sketchy that ill never try again, i never was thinking geez this clutch feel is making the driving worse or harder. I got to the same conclusion you did. It seems like so many people don't really notice anything different. And people love to tinker with stuff to include myself. Better to just leave things stock in the long run. If it was like a sports car and you are trying to shift fast then i get the idea of messing with it. But for a truck its not worth it.

Yeah if you are gonna do it then this is the way to go. Any mod that can be undone with relative ease is the best.
