First of all I know 650lb spring is overkill for my current stock 2001 3.4l 4x4 ext. cab but exactly how stiff will the ride be? I went ahead and got the 650# because I plan to add some weight in the future but probably won’t happen until 4-5 months from now.

Its not bad. I got the toytec kit with 650# springs. before my armor I just left it at the lower settings, still gave me the lift I wanted and I could still jam around mountain roads without chattering my teeth out.

Once I got my armor and winch I just raised it to make up the difference and that was a noticeable stiffness but not bad also.

I have the toyotech 620 with 5100s set at the lowest setting. I also have most of an ARB bumper and a winch. The ride is absolutely perfect, not bumpy. I couldn't be happier. Last weekend I put about 20miles of fire roads + some medium rock crawling. And the ride was very good.

Here is how much lift I got, I don't know much much you will gain over stock, because I had a spacer lift before. Now it's at about 39.5? At the fender arch.

Gonna be pretty harsh. I run the OME 886 which is a 660# and I've got the second get with 4.0, plus steel sliders, aluminum skids, aluminum bumper, and winch and it's still fairly rough.

yeh I’m coming off of spacers as well so I’m used to a shitty ride up front but was hoping it wouldn’t be over the top stiff bc like I said it’s going to be a few months before I get some weight up front.

They actually just came in today the ADS 2.5s i can’t wait to install them this weekend.

It will be less than ideal until you get weight up there. But driving on stock springs with weight is pretty bad too. My truck was nose diving really hard with minimal braking.

I’m debating whether to just go ahead and swap to 600# for the time being

It won't be unbearable, I'd just throw them on so you don't have to later

Yeh I decided to just go ahead and install as soon as I got off work a couple hours ago, I couldn't stand seeing them on the floor not on my truck . Everything was going smooth, I separated the uca from the spindle because I’m putting SPC ucas in and... oh yeah.. this is a first gen so I need an arm puller to get the ball joint out of the spindle as well as press the new steering knuckle inserts in. Fuck, always something! I guess I’m heading to autozone tmr morning to try to rent one.

Has anyone installed SPCs on a first gen before? I read that the ball joint remover they tell you to use doesn’t fit in the wheel well and I sure as hell am not taking off the spindle. Hopefully a pitman arm puller will do the job.

If you aren't reusing that ball joint, flip the nut over and whack it with a hammer. That will separate it from the UCA. As for the knuckle the puller will fit once u pop it loose from the UCA. I've done them on the car with the oriellys rental puller
