I kinda want one. We plan to buy a new truck for the camper, and turn the Taco back to an offroad rig. Would be great to have the Gazelle tent for those trips.

Yeah. I’ve had mine 4 years or so. It’s been great in all weather. Nice and spacious inside. If I’m camping solo I set up a cot. And have a place to take off my boots.

Hey OP, your weigh in includes heavy ass wheels and tires, but that isn’t sprung weight so for some calculations you may want to exclude it. That said, it’s still there and wrecks acceleration, handling, causes more wear and tear, and trashes your mpg if you care about that sort of thing

    Ha!

Well our setup is almost identical except you got canopy and I’ve got RTT and bed rack. Oh you got that nice rear bumper too… my left side is barely held on by 2 screws haha. Very difficult find a bumper compatible with BSM, especially where I live.

Im glad I didn’t add heavy ass skids for transmission and gas tank. Been off road plenty of times and hasn’t been an issue.

I'm not sure I can get behind recommending the OP spend that kinda money on the archive garage towers and start cutting up the truck solely to have another bolt from bed to frame. While it's a nice benefit of the towers, it shouldnt be the primary reason you buy them. The primary reason you buy them is that you want to put 12 or 14" shocks on the rear.

I looked at this briefly. Thank you for posting. However, they mentioned you would need to add like a 3inch spacer which doesn't get me too excited. I bought -38 wheels so I could ditch the 1.25 spacers I had on before.

I hear ya but my aluminum ones are not too heavy. I like to try deep mud holes some watery ones and I feel they could save me from a rock not seen.

I weighed my fairly stock full sized '07 Nissan Titan Crew Cab Short Bed on the scales at the dump. With me and just my standard cab equipment after coming out of the dump, I was at 5550.
Can't believe Tacomas are tipping in at that tonnage.

Never asked you to get behind it. I brought these up based directly on a discussion on failed front bed mounts on the Tacoma.

The extra connection to each side of the frame is the primary reason I bought them. The longer shocks were a secondary benefit to me. Different strokes (haha) for different folks.

Wow I just made a dump run today and checked my weight on the way out, thinking of this thread. Weird synchronicity that you revived it before I could dig it up!
54 even with two assholes and a 1/4 tank of gas, so call it 5100lbs and change
