How heavy is too heavy for homemade sliders?

    You're honestly looking at adding over 300 pounds more than a standard set of sliders. This will have good and bad effects. Like skids the weight is low and helps lower your center of gravity, but you're also sacrificing a big chunk of your payload capacity because it's "free" tubing isn't that expensive, and you can even get weld yourself slider kits fairly cheap.

    Just for comparison, my bolt on sliders with full length mounting brackets, fill plates and DOM tubing weighs 140lbs together.
