Hey ya'll. Just wanted to know if anyone has experience in driving through water that got them in trouble. I have a 2015 TRD Pro. Just wanted to know what to avoid and what I can blaze through! Any input is welcome.

I wouldn't go beyond the bottom of the doors. Any higher you gotta think of all the electrical wiring and sensors around the truck. Sure some of the wiring is waterproof but others are not.

You really need to extend your rear dif breather if going above the axle. Even then Bottom of the body MAX.

I wouldn't dunk your diffs unless you've done the breather relocation mod on the rear diff. Until then, maybe just get your tires wet.

I had it go over the hood some while pushing through a river. It went 6-8" above bottom of doors. Truck was fine, scared the shit outta me though.

    Welcome!

I relocated my rear breather forever ago, but I've yet too actually hear of a rear diff taking in water.

I've had water get in to mine while wheelin in Wyoming county WV. A lot of 2 ft deep creek crossings. Turned my oil In to grey mud. Flushed it out when I got home and added the breather mod after. The problems is not knowing if water has entered it or not. Would eat up a bearing pretty quickly.

So after the rear differential intake mod, sounds like I'm okay with water up to just below the doors. As long as I don't stop and start my car with the tailpipe underwater. Does this seem accurate to ya'll? Any other precautions I should take?

After all the flooding in Houston, I’d also like to know. After I do the differential breather relocation probably to the bed storage box, I’m thinking the highest water you could safely go through it up to your muffler if you end up stopping in the water, or up to the truck’s body if you stay moving. Anything higher and you’re rolling the dice....

My rule is to keep water offf the paint. Anything lower is good. ( after breather mod).
