In April I traded in a 2015 Tundra 1794 for a 2019 Tacoma Limited. Drove it for 5 weeks and 2K miles and brought it back to dealer for braking shutter in rear end and stuttering in 6th gear under several road grade conditions. Dealer said normal even though service techs knew what’s going on. I read up on the issues online. There are numerous examples on this issue including a class action out of California Vs Toyota. That lawsuit states the issue is primarily related to the Limited models. The limited has a different configuration than the TRD’s. The lawsuit also lists the stuttering issue as a safety problem regarding drivability. So, back to my issue. I opened a case with customer care and told them the issue and described the tech service bulletin on this issue and that the dealer did not even measure the rear drums and axle. Told customer care that I know there is a supply chain issue with axle and drums being out of specification on the limited. She said to go back to dealer and she will check in with them as well. Brought back to Dealer. This time they measured the drums and axles, and yes, they are out of specification. This Taco was built in Feb 2019 in Baja Ca. Service ordered replacement parts. Service confirmed to me that when parts come in they need to measure them and they could be out of spec as well. If so, they would need to re-order. They put me in a loaner and sent me on my way. I called the owner of the dealership and told him I am upset that they sold me a vehicle with high probability of having rear end issues, or knowingly sell me a truck with issues. He said what do you want to do. I said trade in back in for a different vehicle. My online review indicated this rumble and stuttering is mainly centered on the limited, with stutter complaints in some TRD configurations. (I also rented a TRD OR for 2 days, it ran nice). The Dealer had two Taco TRD Pros on the lot. A White and a Voodoo Blue. Told owner I was interested in the TRD Pro. He let me take the Pro by myself for the day as long as I needed to see how it drives. I took the VooDoo Blue for a few hours. This is cool. Like driving a vide game. No rumble, not stuttering. TRD exhaust is in nice tune with motor. I made the deal and now driving it and still liking it. Throttle response is working well with shifting. As you drive it you learn how to modulate the throttle to influence the transmission. I use ECT for around small-town driving and see pretty good gas mileage (20.5) than I’m getting in my slow stop and go highway (19.4). In ECT the Toco literally Purrs as it holds the gears longer. I like how the suspension feels. I ride over the bumps in the road like there not even there. So, the color VooDoo blue. All I can say for me (and my wife) is it grows (or puts a spell) on you. The color off course is vibrant to say the least. In bright sun it’s hi vis is at its peak. Sunrise, sunset and overcast it presents as a deeper blue. The color adds to the feeling I described earlier. This thing feels like your driving a video game. The VooDoo Blue adds to this feeling looking out the windshield at its eye grabbing blue on the bumped-out hood with the black decal around the scoop. Overall, I’m enjoying this ride and as a bonus its easy to find in the parking lots!

    Welcome to the "forum"

Good luck with the new truck.

Hopefully the dealership fixes your old truck so whoever buys it next doesn't have any similar issues.

    And.....

Glad to hear you found happiness.

I hope you also realize that you bought the wrong truck the first time...

You sir are right. It’s all about throttle modulation to influence gear shifting . I also enjoy my taco although it’s the off-road not the pro.
