    Hi All,

First time Tacoma owner. My journey started by looking for a V6, 4x4, Access cab with a long bed. I was filtering searches using the SR trim because I would be fine with the base model when I stumbled upon a strange listing, a 2022 SR with the "TRD Premium Off Road Package" and only 3,467 miles:

The dealer even had a link to the factory window sticker on the listing:

It's obviously a TRD Off Road that includes the TRD Premium Off Road Package and the Technology Package along with some other common options. The first owner added an aftermarket Tonneau cover.

I wasn't considering higher trim levels but was intrigued by the potential deal that this mislabel may present.

Prior to buying I checked the Toyota service records and it seems that the original owner was not happy with the shifting in stop and go traffic and stated that the rear diff was screeching at 60+. I found a decent number of posts here regarding these observations and was left feeling comfortable buying off on those "risks".

The dealer online price was $38,973 and the factory sticker price was $42,633 . I was able to get an out the door cost (including shipping!) that was just under the total on the factory window sticker. This was a good deal right? At worst it's not a bad deal given it's almost a brand new truck. Regardless it showed up yesterday and I already love it. Glad to join the community and looking forward to participating.

    thanks,

    LiverKick

That sounds like a great score! I’m in the SF Bay Area and dealers are notorious for adding a 15k mark up from msrp.

Enjoy that truck and welcome to TW.
