That's a pretty cool idea! I dig the simplicity and the diversity of the holster as it can be mounted/used practically anywhere. I can totally see myself using this in my molle backpacks and camelbacks. Thanks for sharing and adding to this thread !

No problem. Maxipedtion makes some great stuff. Mine holster system worked like a champ in my X all the way up to the night I traded it in on my Taco.

Does a TRD license plate frame count as a mod?
Wish I'd seen this over the weekend. Looks like a better mount than what I use. I've got an Uncle Mike's kydex holster mounted directly to the console by my leg. Which works quite well, but I like the look and stability of this one a bit more.

I like having it outside the center console at arm's reach...when seconds count and all that. Some dude comes up to your window wanting to ruin your day, it's easy enough to grab your piece and stick it in his face without much extra movement.

Slow work day, so I figured I'd walk on out to the parking garage and snap a couple. Here you go. The screws are through the paddle, which is only connected to the holster at one area, so there's a bit of flex when inserting and removing the firearm. I think there's a way to make it more stable, but it's firmly attached to the console nonetheless, and draws smoothly. I made sure to position it in such a way that it is further forward than the closest position I'm likely to adjust my seat, but back enough so I can sit comfortably with legs apart. It ends up just about perfect arm's length away.

(Pistol is an HK USP Compact .40 Variant 1)

I agree on having it within arm's reach. I like both worlds, I think I'll combine them and use the maxipedition (velcro) on that same location so I don't have to drill any holes

Good call on the Velcro idea. I'll have to put little plugs in the holes when I sell it.

    IF I ever sell it.

Oh, I never leave it in the car unless I absolutely have to. I conceal carry everywhere except work, and work is in a secured area...the truck holster is just more tactically advantageous than having it wedged into my 4:00. Plus it's way more comfy.

Don't know if you've researched this or not, but concealed carry permits are pretty easy to get in so dak. What part are you moving to?

How come you didn't mount it do the left side of the console? seem like it would be awkward to contort your arm past the console lid and twist it onto the firearm in the event that you had to deploy it quickly.

I was thinking an under the dash option since we have a traditional hand brake...and I already want to be ducking. Ha!

Wow. What's going to happen if you get pulled over for a traffic stop? This is a serious question. I honestly want to know how you expect that would go down.
