    $0. If I can't pay cash for it, I don't need it.

I dunno, I went Saturday and while they didn't get totally pummeled, it was not a good game. I'd start by trading Thornton and marleau.

Congrats to the guys who paid cash. To the rest of us who took on debt but manage it effectively, congrats. Hey... look at what I did there...

Not everyone is financially free because not everyone is the same age, occupation, social standing, etc etc. If you can pay all your bills and take care of your family without fearing the debt all day you are doing fine.

    Paid cash in full.
I make car payments into a savings account every couple of months and then buy them outright.
No required monthly payments or interest for me!

@1.99% I borrowed instead of paying cash. Didn't make sense to buy it outright. No other debts.

Many other aspects to this topic. Certainly a valid point. However, seeing as my truck gets me to work every day in all weather(healthcare) my truck seems like a worthy investment. Not to mention the fact that Toyota just put a ton of money back into it for free assuring more longevity this vehicle has been a terrific investment. Going on 11 years this November. Now in most cases you would be right. I also know this........life is fleeting. I see it every day. If something brings you joy and you can fit it in your budget. Go for it. You could be in a wheelchair tomorrow, or worse. Its blind luck that most of us are here in the first place. So save some and buy what makes you happy.

Debt can be defined as: something, especially money, that is owed to someone else. There are a lot of reasons to incur a debt arrangement. Some good, some not.

So, if one has debt being serviced at, lets say, 1.25%, to purchase a vehicle required for work and other obligations, there is a very real chance that the debt is an EXCELLENT financial strategy. Never mind the folks who have 0% auto loans.

Don't get me wrong, I didn't wake up one morning and decide to buy a truck. Instead of paying on a loan for years, I saved (for years) until I had the cash to buy the truck I wanted.

I don't expect everyone to do the same, but it works for me.

It works if you already have a reliable vehicle. If you need one waiting for years is not the answer.

One can never have too many light bars.
Not all debt is bad and if managed correctly it can make you more money in the long run especially with real estate. With that said living within your means is just smart. Buying a truck with no money down and a 650/month payment wouldn't be the best decision.
