Had a moment to reflect on the vehicles I have had in my life and remembered this one: First silver Toyota. Surprised I even had a pic of it. 1982 Toyota Tercel. Fun car to drive. And now I have my last silver Toyota, 30 years later. Found that ironic. Do you remember your first Toyota?

My first car/toyota was a 91 Tercel silver as well and now I have a silver 2005 Tacoma (newest car I've ever owned) only 14 yr spread. Ironic our toyotas are very similar as well.

Heard that. I had to go digging in an old scrap book to find that pic. I got another good one somewhere. Only heaven knows where.

I feel like there's a great story behind those window markings!

My first car was a 99 Pontiac Grand am. It had enough things go wrong that I could truly learn how to work on cars and just simply how things worked. Luckily not enough to go wrong to make it a complete money pit though. A buddy of mine that helped me work on it had a 92 Toyota pickup with 22RE. Basic tiny little red truck and I used to laugh at him because I thought it was junk. Man was I wrong looking back.

My first Toyota was actually newer than my current Tacoma! Had a 2009 4 door Toyota Yaris passed down to met from a family member. That car sold me on Toyotas. Only ever needed oil and gas and was so cheap to run. Loved that thing!

Man, my brother had one like this! I totally forgot about that. It was sort of orangish/red. Sweet ride.

I was in high school in the early 1990s and had a 1972 Ford F100 I was building up in auto shop. At the time I only liked American V8 vehicles. I let my sister 1 grade below me borrow it for an errand and she crashed it.

My cousin gave me a hand me down 1977 Corolla which I genuinely appreciated even though I believed any car with fewer than 8 cylinders was super gay.

Until I started driving it and realized how fun small light 5 speed manual vehicles are. Corollas used to be rear wheel drive so I quickly learned how to throw it into a corner and make the back end swing out. It handled so awesome compared to large domestic vehicles. It also had non-power steering which only enhanced the street legal go cart feel.

It also never broke down, unlike my parents’ much newer domestics. Unfortunately the same sister needed to borrow it one day and yep, crashed it.

But it permanently changed my preference in vehicles to small, 4 cylinder 5 speed manual and Japanese in make, which has never treated me wrong since.
