For those of you that have a 2024 Tacoma, and are in warm climates, how is the air conditioning in the new truck? Is it blowing frosty cold?

If you happen to have a handheld temp checker, could you measure if it’s blowing ~45F ???

I’m curious how the new truck handles the heat.

Does anyone know if the 4th gen can roll the windows down remotely via the FOB? It’s a handy feature in my 4Runner. It doesn’t work in my 2021 Taco but wondered if it’s in the 2024.

    blows ice cubes...
I dont know how the system works but at times when I have the ac off & in a low temp setting, still blows ice cubes similar to the ac being on...
I havent got out to see if the compressor is cycling but im scratching my head....
ac off should be ac off....

Scrubbed some tires, and knocked a dent out.

Im most concerned with the essentials working on my vehicles, but the fact toyota didnt do what would have been a pretty easy feat (auto windows up or down from remote) is pretty pathetic. Obviously they dont need it for the trucks to sell, but still...

Could probably do that with a software update. I'm sure they won't, though.

Man, you's guys needing AC already? I've used the heated seats all this week in the morning... :annoyed:

The AC should work marginally better due to the cooling fan is now electric. I know on the two 3rd gens I had idling with the AC on was definitely sub par.

I can’t remember for sure but I want to say rolling down the windows with the fob is a configurable option in TIS.

I'd wait to hear what the Floridans have to say about AC. I recall complaints about the AC on 3Gs something about the fan. F-150s can have the condenser freeze up when it's really hot.

I doubt if anything new is going to have great AC. I can't recall any complaints about the AC temperature on BEV, but it probably isn't great.

There were fan blades that weren’t built to specs in the early third gens, right by the cabin air filter. Easy fix. But thanks for your typical input. You are on ignore again.

Summer will be here in a couple of days. We’ve already been to 90.

Remote start with the app allows for setting the temp in the app.

I was planning to ask my dealer about this on my first visit. I rarely even turn my ac on because it blows so cold.

Being in South Carolina, I’m pretty stoked about being able to do this. My dealer didn’t even know you could.

    so youre experiencing it also?
    It's weird!!!!
Feels like the ac is actually on, it definetely turns on the engine cooling fan.
Would defeat the purpose of not having the ac on if infact its cycles the ac compressor though in regards to trying to be fuel efficient...
Issue is, im sure your service writer wont really know, but they may get the answer from an actual tech.
All we really need to do is pop the hood & see if the face of the ac compressor pulley is turning.

I’m fairly certain it is turning on without hitting the button. I’ll grab my temp gun and confirm it but it doesn’t feel like it gets any colder when I turn it on.

like I said, def feels like its on.
but temp gun wont confirm its actually on, yes it will confirm its cold....
to confirm its on, you need to pop the hood & verify the center of the ac compressor & the outer ring where the belt rides is turning as a whole.
That confirms the ac compressor clutch was commanded & theyre "locked-up" & compressor is functioning.

Ive mostly done short trips, short trips ac off in vent mode it blows ice cubes, yesterday around town it did start blowing warm with ac off & had to turn ac on, so it does vary...
But more than not it blows ice like the ac infact feels like its on.

I will also check next time I pull her out, not driving it much at this point, it will get dirty...lol :D

I have noticed the same phenomenon happening with AC blowing cold air when not on. Under Vehicle/Settings/Climate there is an auto on/off feature. Mine is currently ON, so perhaps that is the cause. I haven't experimented by turning it off. That being said we have had some temps in the upper 80s the AC easily turned the cabin into an ice box. In a couple of months when we hit 100, I'll update.

yeah, i have no idea if its really auto temp control & it determines if it needs to engage the compressor to maintain that temp, even though the ac button is off...
Im not very technical when it comes to this new fancy shmancy stuff, nore do I want to take the time to figure out whats really going on...
