How can I only have a range of 274 miles on a completely full tank? Seems like it’s been getting lower the last few fill ups.

Fuel quantity times average economy. What does the computer say your average econ is?

Don't put a lot of stock in that number, it's a guesstimate. Last month after I filled up mine said 305 miles. After 80 miles of highway driving it said my range was 270 miles. Just compute your average mpg over varying conditions--I get 16-17 mpg in town and 18-22 mpg on the highway.

It's just doing dumb simple math based on your running average fuel economy stats and how much fuel is in the tank. Fill up whenever that long pointy thing gets near the red "E" and you will be just fine.

PS: what is more concerning is you taking pictures of your dashboard while cruising down the road at 30 mph! :)

That low number lets you know that your foot got a little heavy on the last tank and the average MPG is low!

Ignore the computer's attempt to provide you with estimates. Same goes for MPGs. My '21 Taco is often 3 MPGs off when telling me the average MPG since last fill-up.
If the number keeps going down maybe you should question your driving habits.

Lift and larger/heavier tires? If so, that's probably about right.

When I first got my Taco, mine read around 360 miles till empty. I had to idle a lot for my work, knocked my MPG down to around 12-14 and I had a similar number as you. 3 months later, I am averaging 20 mpg and still have the same number. I suppose it's a "worst-case" number and takes a while to change.

Do you reset your trip A, B counters?
Disconnect the battery for a few. Any TSB work done (pump replacement)?
2017 consistently displays 385 at fill up. I saw 405 a few times, but nothing lower of 385 even after a lift and tires.
Also 2017 mpg calculation is pretty accurate (within 0.3-0.5 mpg between hand calculated).

Is this a new feature? My 2017 always reads 365.

You need to understand how it works, not just take the output from it as gospel. If you drive exactly like you drove last, you will get 274. However, if you go on road trips and such, you will get a lot more. I laugh at it because sometimes I can go three miles before that thing clicks down one mile! There is a big difference between city and highway and hauling a load or pulling a trailer or hauling a big ol girlfriend...

Or trade for a more compact girlfriend.

    Actually.....on 2nd thought.......trade for a good dog.

A test to see who loves you more.
Lock GF/LOML and the dog in the garage while you go to work. Come back about 9-10 hours later, let them out of the garage. Only one will be excited to see you. That is the one who loves you most.

On my last road trip, mine was always estimating about 290 miles on a full tank, but I was actually getting close to 400.

I never reset my trip computers though, and normal driving is in the city, so maybe the estimate is based more on what my “normal” is. I was like you and really sad to see a range of under 300 miles on the dash, but luckily it wasn’t even close to correct.

My SR never gives me that kind of information. Just a fuel gauge. Have a 20 gallon tank get 400 per tank. That's about 20 mpg.
