Not that this might matter, but on February 1st 2020 I bought a truck that was built in January of 2020. It was at the dealership less than 5 days.

I ordered mine on March 29 2019. It was scheduled to be built on April 5 2019, and it was. It was delivered to me 5 days later on April 10, 2019. I was quite impressed with my sales lady, as she KNEW the ins and outs of the Toyota system. She sent me text with pics of my truck coming off the assembly line, as it was being road tested, and of it being loaded onto the truck for trucking from Mexico to here in Northern CA. But 5 days from manufacture, I had my truck. I was and still am, SO impressed with that one!

Wow they is incredibly fast. It seems like most people are waiting around two weeks. I hope my sales rep sends me pictures like that.

Mine was built in October '17, but I bought it January 2018 as the 18's were being released. Saved $4k off the price...

Yeah, I know! The thing was, that I actually had initially talked with a saleslady at another dealership, and she told me it would take two months to order a truck like I wanted! that was when I visited this other dealer which was bigger, but actually didn't sell as many Tacomas as the initial dealer I visited! But I asked for this particular sales lady, and it turned out that she really knew her stuff. She had been there for 3 years, and she knew the Toyota computer system inside and out. She told me my truck would be built on April 5th, and that was really what made me order it because I had been on the fence about whether or not to sell my completely perfectly good truck [96 Tacoma xtracab that I bought brand new] or to get this new one that I was totally in love with! When she told me the manufacture date, that pushed me over the edge, because it was like a sign from my late Daddy, saying to go ahead and get the truck as a present to myself, because that date was my daddy's birthday! I have not regretted buying the truck since, although I admit it took some getting used to, regarding the dang TSS system! After I took delivery of the truck, I actually went back to the original dealer that I had first visited, and showed the sales lady there, my new truck. I reminded her that she said it would take two months to get a truck like I wanted, but I then told her about the 2nd sales lady who knew how to work the Toyota system, and that is why I got my truck 11 days after I initially ordered it, or 5 days after it was actually built. I even confirmed the manufacture date on the sticker on the door. This lady admitted that she didn't know she could do the things the 2nd sales lady had done to track the progress of my truck from beginning to delivery, and she said I did right to go ahead and get it from the 2nd sales lady. She showed a lot of class, so I was glad that I had gotten her a $50 gift certificate as sort of saying "sorry" that I bought the car from the 2nd sales lady, and she was completely floored that I did that for her. But, since I actually used the fact that this 1st dealer had given me a better price than the 2nd dealer, and the 2nd dealer honored it, I think I did ok!
