Can easily be Houston too. I think vessel “Felicity Ace” might be one of the ROROs they use, and it’s headed to Veracruz now. Yours is already Stateside if you’re getting in on 9/3. Sounds like you got caught in the port backlog.

Just got an update about delivery and it’s coming EARLY now. Was 9/28, now is 9/3. Port issues are clearing up, but production is shutting down. From what I hear.

I also got a text update today.

My build date was 8/26, but he said it was built yesterday and is currently going through quality assurance check at the factory:taco:- so no eta given just yet.

I plugged the new VIN# into the toyota site and it says that it was manufactured at the Texas plant. I thought ALL TRD Pro Tacomas were now made in Mexico. :tumbleweed:

Was told the PRO is still made in Texas. All others are in MX.

Nice! Did your temp VIN have 34 as the week of the year (which is this week)?

My temp VIN has 34 as the week but my dealer said on Monday that my build date is actually between 09/08-09/15.

    Is your 09/08-09/15 a pro?

Nope, TRD Off-Road. But I got excited when I saw the Texas plant, that's where mine is supposed to be built according to the temp VIN.

If anyone is looking for an OR AT Access black, I’m going to call and release the reservation. It’s in Reno, NV. Can pass along info if anyone is interested. Delivery is mid September. I had two on reserve, and can’t take them both!

I don’t think any OR are made in TX anymore. Maybe they still have a few to go, but it’s all down in MX now. I don’t think it’s tooled for it anymore. This is all from a regional manager, but there’s always a chance he doesn’t have the full story. I’ve heard that’s possible;)
MX Tacoma is just as good. It’s all the same thing.

Not all PROs are made in TX as evidenced by mine (expected 9/5, Oregon).

Good to know! I’m under the impression that ALL Tacoma’s are to be made in MX by end of the year. Nothing in print that I’ve found, just what I’m hearing.

Yah, I heard the same thing, and none of us should be surprised! As a side, with the 40% reduction in productivity, along with orders being postponed, I'm very curious how they'll transition over to the 2022s without ticking a bunch of people off.

From the recent articles on the Toyota factory shutdowns, I've heard that the Texas plant is going to be staying online (for the most part) and still producing Tacomas and Tundras due to the American market being so important.

But yeah, my temp VIN starts with 5 (Texas plant) and has 34 as the week of the year (this week) so I'm hoping mine gets built by some time next week and the dealer is just telling me extra time in case of any other delays (under promise and over deliver).

They’ll probably just keep building the 21s for 22, kick in a tech package, or a few this and thats;) it’s a mess, but hopefully everyone gets up and running soon. Looking forward to breaking mine in before the winter.

Hey, the winter might be the best time to break them in, but I feel you! It's been a long process. Oh, and my guy said they weren't worried about production happening for mine. He was worried about how long it would take once it got to port, because of the chaos.

I bet you’re right. The port facilities are wild. Not just Toyota. Get that thing, and break it in!

Oh yah, there have been some fatalistic convos elsewhere on TW about food shortages, etc. You'd think the pandemic would engender patience, but I've become less patient. Grumpy even.
