How long did you have to wait for your 2021 factory order?

I spoke to my sales man on the 30 th of aug said it was built. He told me it was built but missing items with chips such as electronics,but he was not sure he give me the vin also.Going to see him tomorrow morning see what he says then.

 

I am waiting no more!!!!!!!

Hope some of you guys get good news this week! I become less and less optimistic on how soon ‘22 production will start every day. Lol. It’s going to be a verrrry long wait.

 

That is crazy long. How is it that dealers who ordered WAY after you already have trucks delivered?

 

Is crazy…. Mine was ordered 4/17 and they told me tough luck, order a 22 now

Allocations.

My dealer is relatively small. I ordered a manual Pro which is a "rare" build. It took them a while for Toyota to give them that build. My dealer typically only sees two or three Pros a year. They hadn't had a manual Pro in years. They haven't had a Tacoma come in for stock in that seven months either.

I could have gone with a larger dealer but I likely would have had to buy out of province and there was zero chance they would match the price my dealer was giving me. Trust me...I tried. Instead of being impatient and paying too much I waited for the right truck at the right price.

Impatience is the main reason why trucks are so expensive right now. We can blame the dealers but it's the customers that are paying the inflated prices.

 

Got mine last week! Reserved from dealer allocation on august 4th and picked up September 1. Couldn’t be happier, traded in my Tacoma TSS. Quite an upgrade!

 

Looks great! Looks just how mine will be, however mine is a manual trans. Apparently built already but my sales guy said he didn’t have an actual VIN yet, screenshot from his computer says oct 17-25 estimated delivery to dealer. Hoping sooner though.

 

Went to see salesman today give me a print out.That says pipeline and below it says build production completed 8/23/21. 2nd line says shipped processing completed 8/23/21. Third line says in transit truck shipment current 9/26/21. He says the last date can change ,have to wait and see.

 

Just checked my temp VIN this afternoon and I think I got some promising results! Must've changed within the past 3 hours.

Update. My temp VIN stopped working today. I hope that is a good sign.

 

Usually that means your truck is either built, or in the process of being built.
Now you just have to wait through the incredibly untransparent shipping process.

 

Dealer confirmed today that my truck is built ! He said that it's currently in "F" status, which means it's just waiting for transport to get to the dealership I guess.

 

Keep us updated on this. Got the same news 2 weeks ago and nothing since. He thinks I could get it early October. Where was it built?

 

Will do! It was built at the Texas plant and the original delivery ETA was late September to early October. Mine was a "week 34" build and the temp VIN stopped working yesterday.

I asked for the real VIN today but he said he doesn't have it quite yet since it's still in the "F" status. If you haven't gotten your real VIN yet, I'd check back in with your salesman to see what the status is on the truck or delivery.

 

May I ask where you are located? Mine was a week 33 build and I’m in Washington state. Salesmen was saying mid to late October for arrival.
