It took me 6 months to get the same build as you in an allocation. Just how it works with Toyota I'm afraid. Still waiting for mine to actually get built. Honestly, if you didn't get lucky already you will probably end up with a 2022. Ask them when they get their states allocation sheet so you know how often to call and check in. Stay on them, I went through 3 dealers before one finally stuck with me.

Was trying to get a 2021 for a while, dealer having no luck with supply issues. Was waiting on one more Tacoma but it sold and was kept on the website. Dealer got an allocation for a 2022 the day after! Ended up with exactly what I wanted. 2022 trd sport DCSB in lunar rock. Delivery says middle of November barring no issues.

I’m on my second dealer. Both have order dates in early July. The first still had no idea when the build date is going to be, the second said the build date is today!

I copied this from a FJ site, seems to make sense.

“F category means it's been built and shipped; now shipped where we don't know without a little more info.

It could be shipped to Port, or shipped to the dealer. The designation that follows (on the same line on Toyota's Dealer Daily website) is the "activity" (such as RAILH, MEANS IT'S RAILHEAD ARRIVAL DATE) or

If the "activity" is R-TRK, it means it has been released to the transporter from port; it's up to them to get it there! Dealer ETA at this point is usually 48-72 hours

G category means it has been both previously handed off to the transporter and Toyota has invoiced it to the dealer. G category vehicles are followed by Date estimating the arrival at the dealership (usually a 4-5 day span) because it's then out of Toyota's hands and in the hands of the particular trucking company used.”

wow, when did they get the allocation? Haven’t heard anything about allocation/production of 22’s yet. Not saying you’re wrong at all, just hoping for good news. I have a request in with my dealer for the allocation of a 22 Lunar Rock TRD OR.

So I mentioned yesterday that the date was pushed back from the 10th - 15th to 15th - 20th. Dealer screenshot shows "In Transit: Railhead Arrival" which I think means that it has been unloaded from the train and is sitting at the railyard waiting to get on a truck to the dealer. All I can say is that the fricking anticipation is killing me. I was half expecting to get it today with the original ETA or at least by Monday so I kinda let my bosses know that I would be taking one of the two days off so I could spend the whole day getting all my parts installed. Double whammy that I don't get a nice Friday vacation and no truck at the same time. :bananadead:

    I hear you.

My truck delivery was slated for "first 10 days of September." It could show up today but, even if it does, I won't be able to make it to pick it up and now won't be able to pick it up next week if it comes in.

Too bad. It's a bachelor weekend for me with no work and an empty garage. Ha.

Ahhh God. That's gotta be the absolute worst. Knowing it is there but not being able to get to it.

Damn, wish my dealer was that quick. I would assume they already had the truck allocated, maybe a dealer trade?

When i called to check on it my sales guy was off. I got a guy that was telling me there were 3 they were looking at diverting my way, Not sure where you are located but i bet my location had a lot to do with the time frame and availability. I was shitting a brick, 2 days after i put my deposit down Toyota announced they were cutting production.
Good luck man, hope you get it soon.

Please make sure you have something in writing that they are willing to hold it. I stressed several times to my sale rep that I need up to a week to get the truck once it comes in because im flying from out of state. Told several times not a problem for a week. He gave me an update yesterday saying it was going to deliver next mon/tue so I booked a flight for next sat. I woke up this morning to an email that the truck came in lastnight and I have 48hrs too collect it per his boss. I only had verbal ok they would hold for a week. I now had to cancel my non refundable flight for next sat and book an overpriced last minute flight for tomorrow morning. on top of rearranging everything that comes with a last minute trip like this.....

Good advice... But it's all good on my end. My wife bought a 4Runner from the same guy last year and he had no problems keeping it for almost two weeks. As far as car salesman go he's been really great to deal with.

Honestly if a dealer gave me an ultimatum like that they can keep the truck and lose me as a customer. I don't deal with businesses that treat customers like that.

Bear in mind this is Canada, it will be around 600 above last year msrp. But I’m told that isn’t set in stone yet so I’m sure than means it might be more and not less….

That I can’t answer, but I know they also have a 2022 army green on it way as well. I talked to the dealer yesterday and they’ve told me they have already started to build it. I’d think it was a 2021 but I’m getting lunar rock in a trd sport, and I’m not sure about US but in Canada that colour was reserved for the pros for last years model.

Maybe someone who knows more than me can set it straight but I doubt a 2022 has already been built. There are still outstanding build dates for 2021s. Then there will be a shutdown for changeover. Unless they've already done that for one plant while still building 2021s in the other. But I doubt it.

I was told it was being built at the Guanajuato plant and it was in fact a 2022.
