How long did you have to wait for your 2021 factory order?

Lucky!!! I put a deposit down November 11th and still don't have an estimated date... I think I just missed the production window of the PROs so I just gotta wait til they come back through their turn on the assembly line. My sales guy is supposed to have something for me by next week

 

No on both. I put my deposit down on 9/21/20 with it coming on allocation to be built on 10/21/20. The production date slipped to 10/26/20 and it was indeed built that day. However, then it sat in what was called “quality hold” for nearly a month and I took delivery on 12/11/20. My salesman speculated that it was because of the fuel pump recall. Someone on TW speculated that it was waiting until the boat was full for shipping from Guanajuato, MX to Long Beach, CA. I think the latter is more plausible. So 13 weeks from my deposit day of 9/21/20 and they called it sold. No dealer add-ons, $250 below invoice, and $1,000 rebate. I might have done better, but I wanted a 6MT and the color and EVERYTHING the way I wanted it. Love the truck.

 

I'm the same way! I just want the base PRO in Lunar Rock, AT. So many dealers add/mod things that I don't like and drives the price way up. I want to do my own mods, and I've found a dealership that's giving me a good deal, below MSRP, saving me thousands. Otherwise I don't think I could ever afford a PRO! All considered, definitely worth the wait!

 

Long time lurker and actually my first post.
I'm wondering if someone can give me some guidance. "Ordered" a 2021 Cement TRD ORSB with just a couple options around the end of Nov thru the GM of a local dealer (friend of a relative). Anyways..trying to get info from the busy GM is like pulling teeth, so I stopped in last week and met with a salesperson who was nice enough to help me out. He showed me the allotment that had a truck with my name on it and a build date of 2/2. However, the truck was a different color with different options. I know they try to find a similar truck in their allotment and then try to change the build before the date. I guess my question is, will that truck be built to my specs? The date is 3 days away and the salesman as of last Thursday told me he doesn't have an update yet. Seems a little close to not know if the changes went thru. Just trying to understand the process.

My spec was always what I requested from day #1 and I waited since putting a deposit down in Sept. My salesman updated me anytime there was any change in status.
You may want to politely, but firmly, confirm with the GM and sales what the actual case is. To me it sounds like that’s not your truck.
If they still give you the run around, call another dealership or two and go to the one that communicates the best.

 

Doesn’t quite sound right. In my case they found the alotted vehicle most closely suited to my request (it was TRD OR 6 MT with premium and advanced tech package) however they had to put in a color change and notified me that the color change “took” about 3 days later. Then they put in a change for the factory tonneau which “took”’a day or two after that. THEN I put down my deposit on 9/21/20 with a build date of 10/21/20, so the changes were confirmed 30 days in advance of the build date. Might be a good idea to press for more details.

 

Placed a deposit on 1/30 for a trd pro tacoma in lunar rock. I was told 3 months. They gave me some information on paper with the truck and some random mods that I'm ok with. Hoping this allocation is legit. Said they would let me know when they receive a build date.

 

I just talked with the dealer. My production date has slipped from 2/26 to 3/1 on my Army Green OR, but they're quoting 3 weeks from production date to landing here in Cincinnati. I won't hold my breath. They committed to weekly updates. I won't hold my breath on that, either.

 

Today my 21 is coming in!!!! WOOOT. 4-5 more hours till I can caress the leather and look out at the sky with the moonroof...... weather is 61F chilly here - perfect for seat heaters

 

You have us by about 33 degrees. If it was 61 here, I'd be in my two-seater with the top down in shorts.

 

My friend ordered his Tacoma TRD Sport in mid to late october and got it january 21st

That dealer sounds pretty accurate for delivery as my truck arrived about 3 weeks after production day.

'Ordered' September 1st, 2020, Allocation confirmed October 1st, Build mid-December, Delivered mid-January. Upper, upper mid-west

 

I placed a deposit on a allocated '21 DC SB OR Taco on the 2nd of January with an estimated delivery near the end of March/beginning of April. Just got an update for delivery on the 22nd of February! Beyond excited.

 

I can feel your excitement ! I am on day 2 ownership of my 2021 OR: oh what a feeling!
