How long did you have to wait for your 2021 factory order?

Heard from my dealer this morning that my truck is in!

My flight is on Thursday morning and I'll be picking it up in the afternoon. Pics to follow when I pick it up!

 

Quick question, my salesman showed me a picture that says the truck is in transit, but the VIN was blank. It had ETA,Accessories, and truck information on it. Damn it even had my name on it and says “retail-sold”. Just wondering does that mean its built and on its way?

So 9/24 I was told that the delivery window was 9/28-10/4. Today I got an email saying 10/4-10/6. A touch of a delay, but not much. I wasn’t going to be able to pick up this weekend anyways. So I can cool my jets a little. Plus I got an email from Auto Anything that shipping on my tonneau cover is pushed back yet another week to 10/14.

 

The wait is over. Picking up on Friday afternoon. Dealer called yesterday to say he received the truck on Tuesday, was doing the PDI and installing all the little things I ordered with it. He asked me to pick it up on Thursday morning, but being a long distance truck driver picking up a return load in Duluth, MN, I won’t be home until that evening. To all those still waiting, be patient, yours is on the way….

June 30. Dealer received allocation for my build in grey. Eta Sept 15
Sept 1. No news in a while. I called. New eta Sept 18-28
Sept 29. My (mythical creature) has arrived

First post, third Tacoma 97, 05, and 21!

Walked into a dealer and asked if they had what I wanted on allocation. They had what I was looking for on allocation, I had them remove all of the port added features (Toyota Southeast) and placed a deposit.

7/3: Deposit placed
8/30: Permanent Vin issued
9/1: Build date
9/18: Arrived at the dealer
9/21: Drove it home

When I got the Vin it had the navigation package and parking sensors, I didn't want this package. They stuck to the original price and didn't charge me the $1,700 cost of the nav/parking package!

 

Looks like mine is in transit. I must have overlooked it on the dealer website before because the stock photo is black. I just noticed the description next to it was magnetic gray, clicked on the "window sticker" and it has all my options. Getting closer...

 

10 weeks later...my dream has come true! I'm beyond impressed!

Ordered 2nd week of June - delivered 1st week of Sept.

 

Demand must be increasing & lead times are up. My '17 took 2 months even with the manual transmission.

 

From salesman just 5 minutes ago:

“It’s here! See you soon. It looks beautiful!”

we’ll see if I sleep tonight as I can’t pick up til tomorrow when they open!!!

 

Not sure how many pages you've read but 3mo was a starting point/baseline for vast majority of folks requesting specific "builds" i.e. allocations. 4mo was a pretty normal wait.

 

And mine's going to end up being more like 5 months.
