When I ordered my 2021 Cement TRD OR DCSB AT, I was told around three weeks, but it came in a week early. Also, the salesman was always quick to respond to any of my calls/text as well.

My 2021 Pro was built October 17, and supposed to be delivered this week. I received an email from the sales person that my truck is on a "Quality confirmation hold". I read somewhere here on TW that it's most likely due to the fuel pump recall.

Have your salesman send you a screenshot of the Dealer Daily. I inquired about this to my salesman, and he said it should be in their lot on Wed (maybe Tues).

    It is now mine. :D

I ordered (put down a deposit on) my bare bones MT Lunar Rock at about the same time as you. (Mid to late August) Mine arrived last week.

My dealer is the biggest in the state and they sell a bunch of Pros. I was told that all the other dealers in my state are allocated one, maybe two, Pros per year.

When I put down my deposit my dealer explained the wonky allocation process and said I could expect it to arrive in March or April. But then I got really lucky. Apparently Toyota cherry-picked my build ahead of a stack of ATs that were in line in front of me.

When I picked up the truck four separate salesmen all came up to me to say they've never seen a special order Pro come in so fast. So, who knows...

Test drove a 2020 Pro in March. Wasn't ready at the time, so I told the dealer to keep me posted when they received an allocation for a white Pro. The dealer contacted me on 9/23. Deposit placed on 9/25. Arrived on 11/6.

Thanks for the update! My order is for the exact same truck, but in white and headed to BC. I haven’t had an estimate on its arrival.

    Love your AV.
Here’s hoping both our trucks get to us earlier than Jan 13th!

Can anyone provide insight into the VIN workings during production?
If there is a VIN assigned - this means that the truck is built? Is this correct?

June - October 2020. But it was peak COVID. Took delivery and loving it. Just wish the cab was a little bigger...but you can't have everything. When I had VIN assigned I believe it was entering production (shortly).

Picked mine up yesterday - just in time for a blizzard in MN. Absolutely loving it already!

I reserved it in late September, it was noted as "built" on October 17th, and arrived at the dealership 11/9 in the evening. Not a bad wait in my opinion.

When I reserved mine with the dealership, they gave me a sheet of paper with a full summary of the vehicle on it. This had a VIN listed, but it ended up being different when I actually got the truck...

From what I understand about production, once a chassis is assigned to the build the VIN is created.
Whether that also holds true for Toyota, I couldn’t tell ya. I also have no idea when a dealer would have access to that info.

I just assume that once production is complete at the factory and is updated in Toyota's system is when the dealer will have a VIN.

I’ve seen and heard of dealers giving ‘spoof’ ‘VIN’s for paperwork reasons (less digits or incorrect #s).. when you actually search it up it’ll come back as nothing.. once they have the real VIN they’ll update it.

    Where's 'up north'?
I'm in Ontario, Canada. My [Cement] OR AC MT just entered production this week. Jan 13-23 eta to the dealers lot.

There have not been any AC MT on dealer lots [in Ontario] since about April of this year.. trust me, I was looking.

I put down my deposit on Oct. 8. This is for a 2021 TRD Sport in Army Green, with Access Cab and manual transmission (a fairly rare combination). I just got word that it was produced on Nov. 10, in Mexico, and that it should be arriving in Northern Virginia on or about Dec. 14. All in all, this was a bit faster than I expected. This gives me just enough time to get my Leer cap and the other parts that I'm ordering.

i have a similar experience but with no absolute verification of delivery as of yet. I put a deposit/hold down on 9/21 on a TRD Off Road that was already scheduled to be built, but was still unclaimed back in late September.

The truck was built on 10/26, and I was told it would be shipped to AZ by 11/15. However, right after it was built it was out on hold with no explanation with a tentative delivery date of 12/7-12/14!! Salesman said it is a quality hold and had something to do with the fuel pump recall, he speculates.

Yesterday it was released from hold and is again showing delivery of 12/7-12/14, so it will take almost 3 months if it arrives in that time frame. However, it will all be worth it when it gets here. It is exactly what I want: a Barcelona Red Metallic TRD OR DCSB, premium and advanced technology packages, a few other bells and whistles — and most importantly, the reason I ordered it in the first place: my beloved 6 speed manual transmission.

The VIN I have checks out in the TOYOTA Vin Spec search. It even matches the additional port installed bits agreed... In this case how far out would this be?
From the stories, I am worried that this may be a phantom taco (someone else's maybe?) and I'll be waiting a loooong time.

It was an unspoken-for allocation to the dealer, with a supposedly expected delivery date of end of NOV as represented to me... so presumably ordered/allocated before I came along...
