How long did you have to wait for your 2021 factory order?

Sounds like I'm never getting my Tacoma. I just ordered a TRD Sport in the Atlanta area at Marietta Toyota on June 20th. I guess I was dumb, but I did the deposit thing as well and was told it would take about 3 months to get it. I've never ordered a vehicle before- only bought off the lot and keep my vehicles for at least 10 years. I guess I'm dumb to the process. Probably will never see it by the way it sounds...

 

Not necessarily, in my case it was just the fact that Gulf States Toyota region sucks and it was going to be unlikely to get an allocation anytime soon. What are your specs? Different regions have different rates at which their "orders", or allocations, are fulfilled. I am not sure how your region is currently doing (Southeast Toyota). Hopefully they will give you a build date and a temporary VIN soon. Best of luck!

 

Specs are a black trd Sport 4x4 double cab, cloth with Predator package. A few odds and ends besides that, but that's the major stuff...

Got an email saying my Sirius XM trial had been started for my in a 2021 Tacoma even though my salesman is telling me the build date is July 9th - anyone ever had this happen to them?

 

Interesting that a was "brain" was activated that is still on the shelf and more so that they had an actual VIN attached to it to thus link to you...

 

@Grouple Have they given you a VIN or temp VIN for the build? It would be interesting to run it thru the Toyota VIN Lookup.

 

The temp VIN is still working! My guess I just thought of is that the dealer is prepping someone else’s truck and grabbed the wrong email from their system when activating XM.

 

That's probably the case.

 

Whatever you do, unless you intend to subscribe to Sirius/XM, do not give them your credit card number. The initial trial period does not require it, but they constantly called me during that 90 days trying to get my credit card number in return for using the app on my smartphone. It is a ploy to get your information and make it easy to "auto renew" you which is hard to stop once started.

 

They pissed me off years ago with another car. I refuse to use their service. Horrible business practices.

 

Hearing from a dealer that they have an allocation that meets my build except it doesn’t have the LED package (head lights and fog).

Thoughts about upgrading after purchase or would you wait to try and get another build with factory package?

 

Man, I got a Sirius tuner back in ~'06 and being fresh out of college couldn't swing the $500 for the lifetime subscription. Haven't not had it since. That said, I'm sure they have found a way to un-grandfather all those that went that route while they offered it.

I just did the exact same thing at the exact same place. I feel your pain.

 

I had a hunch so went by the dealership tonight. They said it wasn’t supposed to ship until July 1. I need to call tomorrow and find out when it will be ready.

 

I just checked the dealer website and it says my truck is on the lot... I was told it would be there the 14th. Waiting for my salesman to get back to me. That would be crazy if it's actually there already?!
