I got impatient but didn't want to make a phone call again LOL. Sorry. Being in the delivery window sucks.

Interested to see how they reply. Hopefully they don’t come back saying delivery has been pushed out

I don’t want to do the credit pull either until the truck actually arrives

if it weren't for the credit pull, I wouldn't have been pushing. I mean, they have my app, they can sit on it until it's needed. They were asking me about what the local CU was offering for rate and term, which is nice, but then they pull my score with no truck on the lot and that bothers me. Hoping that the message kind of keys them in that they don't necessarily have a sale in the bag. It is the truck I want, but getting yanked around will make me walk too. Only reason I put where I was going is I'm the type that wants to let folks know I'm not just going on a spontaneous vacation or something LOL.

aaaaannnnnnddddd. I got bumped. Delivery now 8/2-8/4. Right in the middle of me being out of town. throws a wrench in my planning, since working on break in was part of my trip planning. Not that I should really complain. That's still ahead of what I had originally been quoted when I put the deposit down. just frustrating.

Mine is scheduled for build on 8/2 and was told delivery ~16th of August. Since placing order I've had a change in my marriage status recently and as a result will be relocating so now if it shows up on time I'm stuck 2.5hrs away all week squirming!

That's annoying. I know the feeling. My delivery got moved to august 2-4 and I'm out of town august 1-6.

It's crazy how we have such extremes here. Some people get their trucks in a month when quoted 4 and others are waiting 6 months when quoted 2.

It took almost 2 months for the dealer to get a temporary vin to me (early May to early July). But he came through, and now I'm just waiting for it to be built. It's a painful wait, but way better than paying the same or more for a used one.

At this point going to wait for a 2022 build, in the process of moving in less than 2 weeks and no need to complicate it in the event we can't close on time or something. The 4 dealers I've reached out to are all MSRP in new England, mostly SW CT to be exact.

This was my understanding as well, dealer told me they order twice a month and based on what is in that order allocation they can modify a vehicle to work as a new build for you if there is a DCSB, LB or Access cab w/ drivetrain/transmission in that line up for example and add color with options/accessories for build..I suspect people who waited long are in further regions, maybe with dealers who order every couple weeks, or waited for the right allocation before ordering without notifying you. I don't think this valid for the Pro, which is strictly allocated a few per dealer hence the mark ups. Was at a dealer yesterday and they are selling all at MSRP, so a OR or Sport seems more feasible than dropping 50k OTD for a PRO in a manual... quote is below.
    PURCHASE
    Price $45,793.00
    Added Equip* $0.00
    DOC FEE $529.00
    Out of State Delivery $899.00

    SUBTOTAL $47,221.00
    Sales Tax $2,998.54

    TOTAL
    CASH
    PRICE $50,219.54

Yeah, it seems like there are just a lot of variables in play. The chief among them being how married you are to a specific build and how rare and specific your build is. The second major variable of course being luck. And lastly how good your dealer is at allocation and how high you are on their priority list.

From what I know, if you are waiting for things like a Pro, a manual, a rarer color, or a very specific combination of features... you'll likely be in for a long wait. Of course you could get lucky, or you could wait 6+ months.

Honestly, I think if anyone reading these posts is flexible on their build and they don't want to wait, they could try going to autotrader or a similar website, look to see what's nearby, make some calls to dealers, and just put a deposit down on whatever is in transit that checks enough boxes.

Since model year changeover to 2022s is near, I am wondering what the most recent build dates are that are out there for 2021s.
Can y'all post the build dates of your recent 2021 Tacomas along with plant of Manufacture e.g. San Antonio, Guanajuato MX, or Baja MX. This will help nail down when the 2022s might start shipping. Thanks.

ive tried about 6 dealers up here in the Portland area and no luck. One dealer (which I will not name at this time) played games with me and said the truck I wanted(which happened to be in Cement) was coming in the following month. They said I had to wait till the first of the month In which the truck was being delivered to put money down on it to secure it. Last time I checked, money is money and financial accounting allows you to record deposits in one month and associated sales in another. The salesman told me I just needed to come in at 730 on the first of the month to sign papers and put a deposit down and the truck would be mine. Apparently another sales guy got wind of this and told his buyer I was coming in at 730 so this other person camped out at 330a. Needless to say I didn’t get the truck. know trucks are in short supply and selling for MSRP, but playing these games of not taking money till the same month the truck is due in and telling people to camp out is ridiculous.

So happy for you, Jenn, love the truck. As well as everyone else who is posting awesome pics! I finally got a build date on mine of 8-12! So hopefully will take delivery in early September. Also a 4 month wait for me.
