    @gsubioguy
    I'm outside of Chattanooga TN.
I'm trying to be patient. Initially I was told 3-5 months and currently it's looking like 5 months from start to finish.

Ahhh! Thought you were saying you ordered on the 12th and got it on the 29th. Where outside of Chattanooga? I grew up in Rocky Face (one exit North of Dalton, GA).

Oh nice! Been AGES since I've been up in that area. I moved to Maine in 2013 but hadn't been in Dalton/Rocky Face full time since starting college in 2000.

Yo! Tried reading as much as I could before posting so hopefully I didn't miss it but, how are some people seeing shipping updates? as in port of transport, rail location ect? I've been looking for a 21 Off-Road for months and just happened to call a dealership who had just received their spec sheets for allotments being built on 8/2. Paid the deposit and got an email from 'em to expect it the last week of Aug. Would be cool to follow the progress if possible.

If you are really getting it on AUG25, then your salesperson will have and should provide you with a spec sheet and at least a temporary VIN that you can check on Toyota VIN lookup website.
I would guess that it would already have to be built by now to get to you

    Thanks for your kind respond.
I just contacted sales person, asked for temp Vin, built date and screen shot of info. this is her response "We are at the mercy of the Toyota we don't create the vin for the vehicle. When I get a vin I will send it and hopefully it won't be long." I do not trust as she behave suspicious. If i am going get by 25th it must be built by 10th of August. I responded as "I want to make sure , your dealership has allocation, manager submitted to Toyota. what you send to specs sheet.. Once you get allocation you must have build date and temporary vin. After production date, it will take another 2-3 weeks for daredevilry. I hope you will find allocation, temp vin, and production date soon."

For what it's worth, mine is scheduled to be built 9/7 and I've had a temporary vin for a couple weeks already. So something doesn't sound right.

She is fooling you. She could not have a delivery date without a build date.
Sounds like there is a misunderstanding or that she is stringing you along.

Definitely seems strange. I put a deposit on one a few weeks ago and it was scheduled to be built today (8/2). Before I even put the deposit down I was emailed the spec sheet with the vin and build info. Hopefully they're not stringing you along just to have a guaranteed sale when a truck does actually show up.

With all that said....I'm still expecting a delay or some form of disappointment with mine lol I'm a glass half empty kinda guy.

On a jobsite in north Idaho, fires out here in the northwest making for some very smoky/hazy days. Sun looks cool though, wish the camera could pick up how it looks to me.

Stay safe firefighters! You guys are bad ass!

Howdy, I am a teenager still and I have zero experience in car buying. I recently put a deposit/order with a local dealership for an SR Access Cab in Magnetic gray metallic with the Utility package. In my area there are plenty of SR Utility Trucks available in White, I just wanted something not white. I paid the deposit and the sales person said that their average time currently was 2-3 months for delivery. Considering my model and the time of year etc... what should I expect? did I get scammed ?

@contrabass welcome to TW! The deposit is refundable if you decide to walk at any point so scammed, no. Might you get a run-around, dunno. A few variables involved that randoms on a forum cannot answer. At this point you might end up with a '22 model.

    Few bits of advice:
*know your credit score (the sooner the better in case you need to work on it--not a lot can be done in 2-3mo to help but showing progress is good).
*seek outside financing (your bank/credit union are good places to start) before you go in to actually buy the truck. Have those initial offers in writing and take to dealer. That said, don't start shopping for financing until the truck is in route--if the hard inquiries are within ~2wks of each other they'll be lumped into one and will reduce their overall impact on your score.

2021 DC TRD OR just off the truck. Build date was July 15. Will be picking it up next week.
"Ordered" it about 10 weeks ago, came in today. Not too bad a time to wait.

Thank you @gsubioguy, luckily I don't need to finance as I was able to save up and make this a cash purchase, though that makes my options and packages a little limited.

I only marched in high school too. Though I know some friends who march DCI, and usually my instructors and teachers were involved.
