Oh boy… this final stretch of waiting. I’m staying positive because there’s light at the end of the tunnel, but I’m really feeling the four months of waiting in these last couple weeks. :pccoffee:

Oh I know the feeling. I'm a week away from the target delivery date but I am hoping sooner! Going to do a late night cruise the the dealership lot tonight, who knows maybe a certain vehicle was delivered today!

I'm about 4 weeks away from delivery according to my dealer - I have a feeling this is going to be a long 4 weeks:)

These dealers are just shining you on. But what choice do you have, a 2022 Frontier?

I think this will dent Tacoma sale in 2022. I heard 22 Frontier will out on September 7th. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ftg4Cd5T54

what are the odds that there will be a tacoma "sale" once the frontier comes out. the rogue has 0% financing for 36 months now and that by far outsells the frontier :)

My build date was last Wednesday 8/11. On Saturday 8/14, my temp vin stopped working. On Monday 8/16 dealer called and gave my official vin and said truck was “in processing” for transit. Said he would let me know the next step which was “in transit on truck”

Good chance giving something as current taco intensives ( 500 grad, 500 military) expired on Sep 7, winch is launch day of Frontier. They may give $ discount for 2021 frontiers

Wait until 2023 Frontier will have a V8 option.

Looks pretty good. However, I would not buy a 2022. I would never buy the first year of any new generation from any maker.

And I think the Frontier is overpriced. I also think the Tacoma is overpriced. My loaded 2021 OR was nearly $46,000 MSRP. Ridiculous.

The still have those stupid low-slung frame rails on the New Frontier, pretty much negating any off-road prowess. If I recall, you gotta lift a Frontier 2” just to get the frame up as high as it is in a Tacoma.

Most people are just going to Panera Bread for lunch before hitting a well maintained fire road for a late day hike.

At least the Frontier frame is fully boxed unlike the open wet noodle c-channel shit center section that Toyota decided the Tacoma needed on the 3rd gen. The pathetic part is despite moving to an open c-channel center the fucking thing still has rust problems.

Yes. They start C channel to reduce corrosion, they still get corroded. Why only Tacoma has corrosion problem compared to rest ?

Toyota doesn't follow Kaizen anymore, how frame rust problems sailed on past the 1st gen we'll never know . I know this will be an unpopular opinion, despite what Scotty claims Toyota quality likely peaked two decades ago.

Ok so I placed an order and put a deposit down 3 months ago and dealer says no build date, no temp vin,it’s as if nothing has been done.. now they are saying a toyota rep came in and told them they arent giving out build dates because the factory in mexico had a covid outbreak.. am I getting bs’d here? Is there anything I can do here or ask? This is crazy..i’m guessing it’s because i talked them down 1300 on a factory build and they know they can get more then msrp from others so they are stringing me along until tacomas start getting built in large numbers again..

I buy it, I’ve heard multiple stories of dealerships saying the exact same thing.

Hopefully the dealer warned you of the long wait for the truck.. I put my deposit down in March and just got pushed to a 22’ because my name never came up for a 21.
