My VIN ends in 6 numbers so I'm assuming that the truck is built since that should be a permanent vin?

I placed a deposit on an allocated truck on 9/21. It was built on 10/4 as scheduled. The expected arrival date was next Monday 10/25, but this morning I found out that it'll be here by the end of the week.

I ordered my 22 OR DCLB on 09/07. Still no word about when the build date will be. Hopefully it will have a build date some time In November. I’m paying 300 less than msrp.

Put a deposit down last week for a 2022 Lunar Rock ORP! Cant wait! Still no build date, But hopefully I hear something soon. Gotta get rid of the 3rd gen runner before I take order! I miss my 18 quicksand, but hated the lack of options. It got replaced by a 2020 4runner OR, then 2021 4runner ORP

I put down a deposit in July for a 2021 TRD OR MT. The allocation didn't happen until September, at which point it became a 2022 order. The temporary VIN (40B355) suggests it will go into production soon. The original completion date from the dealer was Nov 5, but I'm guessing it's slipping.

One thing to note is that the "Date of First Use" shown on the site doesn't seem to be legitimate, at least not for temporary VINs. One time it said "January 01, 0001", and it currently says "December 31, 1". Neither of which are real dates. I looked at the raw data and it had this:

    "vehicleDateOfFirstUse": "0001-01-01"

What that tells me is that the system doesn't actually have a date, so it falls back to some meaningless default value. And then the site doesn't know how to interpret it, so it chokes.

Whoo! Almost party time! Wondering how far off our VINs will be considering it's almost the same exact truck. Hope you get the permanent vin soon! You got good taste. Still not sure if I'll drive it home from rhode island or ship it. Got a few quotes for shipping and they're quite reasonable

From rhode island back to Michigan. Around ~600 from a few different people. Trucks never want to drive back empty. For a 15 hour drive and not having to take off work I'm heavily considering that and not putting 900 miles on the truck straight off the rip. Although would be a great road trip

Edit: just to add, don't put your phone number on a shipping quote website. Just like the auto insurance websites. These guys are ruthless!

Have been trying to get a tacoma since June, wanted an allocation but walked away when my dealer upped the price and reneged on any deals and wanted way too much.
Went to a different dealer out of state and they got their allocation info for 2022's on september 17th and I immediately put a deposit down for it. Toyota wouldn't let them change features so I took what I could they had for a 2022 Lunar Rock TRD Offroad 4x4 with the led tech package but I had to also take the premium audio package, which I didn't want but I'm not going to complain about it.
I pick it up this weekend.

    TL;DR
    Allocation Date: September 17th 2021
    Build Date: October 1st/2nd 2021
Delivered to Dealer: October 16-18th 2021
    Pick Up: 10/23/21

The Lunar Rock looks awesome. My first choice was Cement then I realized that I wouldn’t get a 2021 so Lunar Rock became my favorite, but I’m getting an Army Green. Oh well I’m excited and happy but just wanted to let everyone know that LR looks really good on the Tacoma.

If you don’t get this truck let me know. RI is close to me and that is the truck I’m looking for.

Can I ask how you like the premium audio package? And could you specify if that was the package that included the Premium audio and navigation with the LED lights and tech package? Thanks!

Gorgeous truck! That's the first non-Pro I've seen in Lunar Rock and it looks great. Mine (green TRD OR) was built on the 4th and it's in transit now. I've been expecting it to have the gray/white TRD decals on the bed, but judging by recent pictures (including yours) maybe it'll have the red/black decals.

The Premium package includes the premium audio. In AT you get JBL speakers but in the MT you don’t get those speakers. Not quite sure why they even call it premium audio in the MT package

If you have a temporary VIN you can look at the last 6 to determine the scheduled week it is to be built (ie:**********45A324). The two numbers before the”A” indicate the week it will be built which would be the 45th week of the year. If there is no VIN yet then the dealer has to wait until the build you want is allocated. Toyota releases a list every two weeks on the 1st and the 15th and hopefully the build you want will be in one of those allocations. If the latter is the case, the wait can take a while and patience has to set in. If a VIN is assigned then the wait is not as long. Once to vehicle goes into production the “A” will disappear and a permanent VIN will be assigned, the last six all being numbers.

Could you specify what AT and MT means? Sorry haha! And to be clear, would you mind including what packages you went with on your taco?
