I was really sad when I found out that cement was discontinued. But the more time that passes, the more the LR color grows on me.

PROTIP: Santa Margarita Toyota in Socal has a DCLB 4x4 Sport in LR due to deliver anyday now. Also another will be built this friday 2/18 (DCLB Sport 4x4 in LR).

Santa Margarita has gotten 4 of these since Late November.
Finally, got one lined up at my MSRP Dealer though.

Disclosure: Santa Margarita asking $1,880 above MSRP.

I was originally told 9-10 months 2.5 months ago for the same build... except they added "and maybe not ever". But, they took my $500 for the allocation request and I text the salesperson weekly to remind him that I'm still here...

Put a deposit down 01/25/2022, truck was built 02/11/2022, picked it up 02/15/2022. Had a different deposit down previously for another dealer but this one had it first. I got super lucky! Less than a month.

I’ve been talking to a few dealers about getting a Taco and one wants my driver’s license and insurance card to “place the order”. Took me by surprise, why the insurance card? They’re not asking for any money for a deposit. Anyone heard of that before?

I haven't, but my dealer did want my DL; either way it isn't enough for a hard credit check... but yeah, not sure why they need proof of insurance just to "place the order" as that has nothing to do with anything in the Toyota allocation process.

Beautiful truck and beautiful Aussie, I have a Blue Merle as well. My truck was also built last week so you're giving me hope it'll be here sooner than later.

My dealer wanted license, insurance, and $1000

This is my first post - so be kind LOL. After reading through this thread and speaking with a few dealers - this is what I am gathering regarding a factory order/dealer allocation. Each dealer has access cab/double cab allocations and the dealer can specify how one needs to be build for a customer. Toyota can then approve and modify slightly (add an extra package or two). The last car I factory ordered was a '16 Mustang GT and that was optioned out exactly how I wanted it. Is the ordering system the same for Toyota? One dealer gave me an excuse that LR is a hard to find color, manual transmissions are not being produced and double cab would be more likely. Dealer 2 said they could put in an allocation order and it may have an extra package onto it and Dealer 3 said they would do their best to get the exact truck I want as long as its buildable on Toyota's website.

All I am seeking is: TRD Sport/Access Cab/6spd Manual/Lunar Rock color/LED headlights - thats it. After looking through the inventory spreadsheet, there is (1) but with the wrong options, so I think my best choice is to factory order/place a dealer allocation request for exactly what I want. PS: this will be my first truck purchase - enough of the sports car life...

This video made by a Toyota Engineer explains the allocation process. Unfortunately it isn’t just as simple as placing an “order”. The dealer gets allocated vehicles usually once maybe twice monthly and can change some of the options on those vehicles. If your dealer isn’t allocated a particular vehicle they will attempt to trade for it but nothing is concrete until you have a VIN. This is how it’s been explained to me by the dealer.

MSRP, only extra was the stargard they “have to add for safety” while it’s “on the lot.” $1k extra but that’s it
