Didn’t hear anything from my salesman this week. No news is good news. Everything must be right on track.

Well, from all the other posts here... might be a bit too optimistic... but I hope you're right!

    (4) dealer visits today in Northern VA:

#1 - only one that had a used 6spd manual available (50 mile radius) so got to see how it drives and shifts. Sales manager continues to lie to me saying to just go to Toyota.com and order one as Tacomas are built all around the U.S. LOL

#2 - dealer was willing to accept a deposit but had a mandatory "paint protection add on" for $1,200. Also claimed that Toyota is putting Tech packages on all the LED headlight equipped Tacomas (huh?) I said I'm not paying it and walked out.

#3 - salesman said there is a $2k markup on all vehicles. I said I'm not paying it and walked out.

#4 - same dealer neighbor uses and e-mailed my build sheet earlier this week. Salesman said they are "working on finding me one" and once they gets head up of a build similar, then they'll need a deposit. Don't have confidence in this dealership...

If anyone has a good dealer allocation experience with no markup over MSRP - please let me know via PM or reply here to help others out as well. I'm open to travel/hop on a one way flight as well for my ideal truck:

not sure about the build week as Canadian trucks seem to start off with a VTN and then get a VIN after they arrive at port. The last numbers of my VIN are 065845 if that means anything?

Not really. I already have a delivery window and it’s fine to me if it gets delayed. Who knows it might come early. I have no control over it so no reason to be anxious or worry about it. It will be here when it gets here.

They didn’t make a Tacoma Pro in
    16. The number of 1500 was a reference to the 15 pro. Actually it was a little smaller then that. I assume this year will probably be around 10 to 15 thousand.

you'll probably get your pro before i can even get an advanced tech DCSB lunar rock with LED. FML. I'm up to like 6 dealers around here I'm in contact with. Original dealer that I requested through on 11/24 is a joke and I wish I had started day one going to other dealers. I went to 3 who are looking for me, both have my exact build coming in for other people who put deposits down in December. Hopefully the place I put a deposit down with 1/7 gets me some news soon. had one dealer offer me a 20 day away trail edition army green but the shit was 49k MSRP with all the add ons they had on there that couldn't be removed. PRO money for a trail edition SR5 no thanks.

Congrats! That sounds like an awesome truck!!! LEDs?

I’ve decided to move forward with the allocation my dealer got that’s lacking the LEDs. Supposed to be built the first week of March. It’s so close to what I want otherwise. If a better option pops up in the meantime the dealer says I can my deposit back (we’ll see…). But I figure if the halogens bother me that much I’ll just spend the cash and buy the oem lights.

I imagine the price will come down on the factory LED's sooner than later once.

This is a blessing in disguise. The LED blow monkey balls in snow and ice. Like they are stupid bad. I'll be changing my LED headlights back to halo the second I get my truck.

Any road slop and they ice up about every 50 miles

I calculated this before toyota announced the 40% reduction if you asume equal distribution of Toyotas across all trims and colors models then about 2000 autos and about 200 manual lime PROS were planned for 2022. I have heard that Toyota slashed PRO production this year because of covid and chips. They are focusingon high volume sales models. And If you watch the tacoma spreadsheet that appears true.. tons and tons of white sr5s and lunar rock sports,, PRO models are rolling out daily in the low double digits. 6 were received on Monday out of something like 2500 total tacomas nation wide. The Lime will absolutely be the rarest color of PRO yet, simply because they are soooo far behind already.

My lime auto was a week 49 build. And it was actually built week 03 so it was a month behind in just manufacturing.. Its slated to arrive next week, but I'm not holding my breath

One lime taco was delivered last week in Colorado, mine will be the second. I've searched every dealer in Colorados inventory

A few months ago I was surprised that out of the 5 unallocated TRD pros in my area. 4 were electric lime.

I will definitely share pics, if for no other reason than to prove these trucks actually exist.

My local Atlanta area dealership hoped to get the spec I wanted (Super White SR5 Access Cab V6 2wd), but it started looking like they'd never get one in their allocation. I just missed one in North Carolina, but the local dealer found one in south Florida. Furthermore, they said that the only ones that were coming to any Atlanta area dealer were around 2 months away. One was black, the other silver, with both going to another dealer across town. I called that dealership and they said their fees were high plus they had $1,500 markup on every truck.

I negotiated with the south Florida dealership and came to terms on a Monday, flew down that Saturday and bought it. Drove 600+ miles home that day, getting home around midnight. Due to an increase in fees vs. my local dealer, it wound up costing my around $800 or so more than if I bought it locally, but it was starting to look like that day wouldn't come for a long time. They did throw in floor mats, window tint, and wheel locks, plus they didn't try to sell me any BS warranties. I was in/out of the dealer in less than an hour and on the road.

Here's a photo on 2/12/2022 when I picked it up:

Yeah, it was a looooong day. Plus I'm an old guy - I'll be 64 in a few weeks. I needed a 6' bed worse than I needed a crew cab. I really like the access cab so far.
