Hell ya you did. That 6 foot bed is legit. I drove to Albuquerque to get new rims and tires from a tacomaworld bro. Noticed how much easier they loaded in my truck. Mind you, I just bought a PRO with a 5 foot. Wish they made an access cab PRO

We did/do alot of kayaking. Biking camping.. it allowed me to pull the bikes into the truck.. which is just sick.. you can't do this... with the 5 foot bed.

We have tubeless tires of course. Riding old native american foot trails in colorados often forgotten prairie land. The vast "pawnee".

You got that right. One of the reasons I got the 6' bed was to haul bikes. The 5' bed doesn't cut it.

When I started seriously looking 5 months ago there was only one place charging a markup locally and it was 10k over for all PRO Models. Now they are all charging over, for all models, from 1500 - 10k. Unfortunately its a trend that is growing. I was a hard no about paying over when I started looking but after waiting 4 months, I just have to give in because I really need a truck. Its just money, right? :(

Koch 33 Toyota in Easton, Pa. is showing 3 Pros on their web site. All 3 are automatics, 2 in white, 1 in black. Kinda odd since Pros are high on the wanted list.

Received an email this morning stating my Pro showed up in the dealer's inventory. Gave me a list of the options that it is going to come with and asked what other options I would like. A couple of the options will be added a the port and the remainder when it reaches the dealership. Should be ready for pickup around March 19. Never even knew the temporary VIN but have the real VIN now.

I just put a fully refundable deposit down on the following Tacoma:
    • 2022 Tacoma TRD Sport
      • 4WD
      • 3.5 V6 engine
      • 6-Speed Manual transmission
    • Double Cab
    • 5-foot bed
    • Blue Crush Metallic paint
    • Black Leather interior
    • Premium Package
      • Advanced Technology Package
      • LED lighting
The sales associate confirmed my suspicions my ask is pretty rare and may well take a loooong time, as in 8 to 12 months, before any such vehicle is built. The good news is I'm in no hurry so even a year is fine by me. :)

they can request your specific build be allocated - rather they get it or not may depend on their volume with Toyota and other factors. My dealership was able to request my exact* build, and got it in one allocation round. My sales associate said “they owed us, they’d not accepted hardly any requests in the last few rounds”

I put in a request for the exact same thing you did with the exception of I wanted it in Lunar Rock. 4 months later and not a peep, then a Pro fell in my lap so I am jumping on it. I'm not sure why there are so few loaded manuals produced. The dealers I spoke with said they fly. No way I would ever buy one of these in a Auto.

I have a feeling with these trucker freedom rallies ,, that there will be some serious delays in truck deliveries. Rumors of one starting in the US on wed??

So I'm sure this information is somewhere in here but this thread is up to 122 pages :)

I just put a deposit down last week on a Tacoma that the dealer said would arrive in mid March. I had been thinking of custom ordering one but he said that would take six months and he had two available for me to choose from that would arrive in the next couple of months. I assume that means they are allocated to this dealership and on their way. Correct? Like, as guaranteed as things can get in this world? He gave me the spec sheet and it has a vin number without a letter in the last 6 spots. The 6th and 5th spots from the end are 48.

So, from what I am gathering this means that this is a permanent vin number because it does not have a letter in the last six characters, and my Tacoma has already been built, around the first week in December. Or could that just be the planned build date and the actual build date could have been weeks later?

And would someone mind walking a newbie through the process of getting updates? I see people writing things like my Tacoma was built on October 3rd, crossed the border on November 17th, arrived in Santa Fe on January 2nd, and is due for delivery in Denver on the 12th. I'm not sure how I would get that information.

    Thanks!

AFAIK, if you have a permanent VIN then there is a truck already built with it that is somewhere in the transportation process. Could still be at the factory awaiting transport to port, or could be at port, or could be enroute to the dealer... your salesperson should be able to tell you where the truck is in the process as the VIN should already be in their system and visible via something I heard someone else call "The Dealer Daily".
