How long did you have to wait for your factory 2022 order/request/whatever it is called?

mine is 1-2 weeks from me taking delivery here in Nova Scotia Can you tell me which floor mats your truck came with? My 2020 tundra came with the all weather style. Also do they come with the black protective tape on the rocker panels where your feet would drag getting in?

 

Yes it come with all weather style floor mats and there is a black plastic protection on the door sills.

Hi all, first post on the forum so forgive the naivety..

I put a $500 deposit with Longo Toyota a month ago and on my order receipt it has 4 option codes and I can’t quite figure a few of them out. I mentioned to the sales person that I wanted BSM and LED headlights, and leather seats if available.

I couldn’t find these on the option list/code document I found on the forum.

Does advanced tech package have a separate code? I was searching on the Toyota site and it looked like “technology package” is not available on TRD sport and OR for 2022, but “advanced technology package” is. Is this a change to the 22 model? I would ideally want the panoramic monitor.

I have no idea at all when to expect my truck. Does this $500 deposit guarantee me a vehicle (as close to my desired specs as they can get)? I sometimes worry that I won’t be able to get my hands on one before the new redesigned taco is released. I know I want a brand new third gen, not any redesigned stuff.

it all depends on if you put a deposit on an allocation, which means the truck is allocated to that dealer and has a temp vin and build date. Otherwise you are just waiting for them to get allocated a truck like the one you want and may be in line for an allocation. You may be waiting a while. Find a dealer that has one allocated and put a deposit on that.

Just started looking for a 4Runner for my wife and realized how crazy the market is right now. Local dealership wanted a $10k market adjustment, I walked out promptly and have been doing the rest if the dealing and over email and phone. Best I can find is MSRP with 60-90 day wait for TRD Off Road Premium in white, there is no inventory around Northern VA and I just expanded my search radius up tp 500 miles.

 

Not sure. It was delayed a week longer due to the border issue.

To clarify, it was a refundable deposit to be placed on the waitlist. Here’s what the guy said in the email

“We're currently operating on a pre-order basis, which means we don't have any available vehicles in stock to sell (we may have in transit or production to offer), but we do have an open waitlist which we will assign based on the order received. The open waitlist is intended for guests willing to wait or who can wait for the right configuration. Although we cannot customize orders through Toyota, we can associate your request with the closest match based on their planned production. Let me know if you'd like to jump on the waitlist to ensure the right vehicle.”

My “invoice” has the trim, colors, and options I requested. No talk of allocation, vin, or production dates.

 

Sounds like you are on an allocation wait list in which salesteam will evaluate customers with deposits and assign vehicles after phone calls are made to confirm a match.

You guys need your own 2022 offroad lunar rock thread. Several really great guys went this route. I almost did. Truthfully I might have. But my wife already got a 4runner in it so our driveway would be a little spacy... but now it looks like margaritaville on the moon..

I've been working with Longo. Put my deposit on 12/1/21 and it just got built on 2/24/22. LR 4x4 DCLB sport. Options were whatever came with it. No changes made. I took the first one they had. But they sell at MSRP no matter what. I've bought a ton of cars from Longo and always got invoice. But in this market, I'll take MSRP.

 

At what point did you get a build date? Did you have a choice with the options, or did you just decide to take whatever came?
So far i put down my $500 and all i got was a sort of receipt for my payment. I specified the options I wanted. Can i rest easy knowing that I'll definitely get a taco going this route?

Hey there - Sorry to troll your post from back in November, but I was curious as to how you got to this specific information on your truck before you got it? I have a VIN, delivery in early March, and have an account on the “My Vehicle” site for Toyota, but can’t see this information. Not super important since I already know the truck is built and on it’s way, just needing another way to pass the time before it arrives. Thanks for any help and I hope you are enjoying your Sport!
